hi, anyone can share about the belt position on the pulley ?

is it supposed to be downward side,, or have to be center position at the pulley ?

as the manual;s washer , if i follow the manual, the belt goes slight downward, i need to add 2 washers on top of the pulley, only can get center position for the belt.

hope can hear frm the 480xx pilots..thanks

belt position on front pulley
I bought my 480 used and I had the same thoughts about the belt riding low on the pulley; after over 60 great flights I haven't had any problems..

I do a great decending funnel!

Position of the belt is not important, while in flight
- it will move up and down (for pulley above main gear)
- left to right (for rear tail pulley)
- it constantly shifts

What will help is some dry silicone lube to:
- keep belt in good shape
- helps keep belt from jumping off rear pulley
- keeps prevent static electricity build up
(depending how much humidity in the air)

I had a lot of issues with my Logo tail belts:
- belt slipping off tail pulley
- belt melt one side of tail pulley
- belt squealing (tighten & loosen many ways)
- belt teeth wearing down prematurely (excessive residue inside tail case)
- rudder control snapped in flight
- tail case snapped in flight

I fabricated a triple bearing belt tensioner that makes it physically impossible for belt to slip off the tail pulley. the silicone spray is the "icing on the cake". I had tried many variations and if my method didn't work, I would of picked up the spedix tail box as a last option.
