The Spin Continues... (Call It What It IS: Terrorism)

The outrage in California has been compounded for the last 24 hours by both the media and, of course, our putrid President. Let's look at what we know.

First, Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik were either married or may as well have been. It has been reported that Syed had become "more religious" (Muslim) in recent years, and went to Saudi Arabia to marry Tashfeen.

There are those in the media who are trying to spin this as something that "set Syed off" at the holiday party, implying that there was some sort of quick-action rage motive. This is utterly necessary for the "gun control" narrative that immediately came spewing out of the rectally-inverted President's mouth within minutes of the massacre occurring, but it is also demonstrably and knowingly false.

Why? Because these two left behind 14 pipe bombs, which you can't manufacture in an instant. It takes time, effort and planning to make improvised explosives, never mind plenty of care (or you blow yourself up.) Second, what the hell was his wife doing involved in this and third, they dropped off their young child with a relative before starting. These cannot be reconciled with a "rage monster" sort of event and instead point to clearly-premeditated and planned action.

It is quite obvious that the intent here was jihad and that it was carefully premeditated and planned.

Further evidencing the planning of this act they clearly intended to document their jihad as well as both had GoPro cameras strapped to their vests.

In addition they had explosives strapped to remote-control cars at their home and three IEDs were found and detonated at the site of the assault, apparently rigged to a toy car remote. Fortunately they were either not commanded to detonate or malfunctioned.

So here's the problem with the narrative that our jackass President and a number of others wish to run this morning: Two or more people intent on jihad don't give a crap about gun laws and there is no lawful way to manufacture IEDs detonated with toy car remote controls.

In other words this has exactly zero to do with guns except in one way: When these two sheetheads decided to commit their horrific act there was exactly one opportunity to stop them and that was if a decent number of the people at that party had been carrying guns.

Why?

Because having failed to detect this event before it occurred and interdict it, which I remind you is an impossible task with 100% accuracy even given the surveillance-laden state of the world we live in the cops were still the second responders.

All of the potential first responders were unarmed and thus targets and ultimately victims.

You may not like this but it doesn't matter if you like it. It is a fact and I remind you that when these two were found in their SUV and chased a few hours later it was guns that stopped them, not harsh language or condescension.

The government is incapable of preventing these types of assaults no matter what sort of police-state tactics are employed. The Second Amendment exists due to this fact and, if it is respected, provides you with the option but not the obligation to be prepared for such an event with a means of response.

I have a fire extinguisher in my house but I do not expect to have a fire. However, if I do have a fire and do not have a fire extinguisher my house is likely to burn down because even though the fire department is only a mile and a half up the road by the time they get here much if not all of my home will probably be a cinder. Since I do not wish (nor could most people afford) to pay to have a fireman live in my house all the time I instead bought a fire extinguisher.

It is time to cut the crap. No more ******ned permits, licenses and similar and all of those existing laws must be repealed or superseded now. The Second Amendment is the highest law of the land as it is part of the Constitution and thus trumps any putative law claiming to the contrary.

Whether you like it or not there is always a risk of some jackwad trying to pull something like this in your daily life, no matter where or who you are. It is unlikely that you will suffer such an event in your lifetime, but not impossibly so, just like it is unlikely (but not impossibly so) that I will have a fire in my house.

If there is such an event, however, the fact remains that in a mass-shooting incident the shooter has one pair of eyes and he or she intends to shoot multiple people (the definition of a "mass shooting".)

As soon as the bad guy's gun comes out if there are multiple people among his intended victims who have arms on their person there is a fighting chance that one or more of them can get a clean shot while he is spending his available mental and physical capacity on targeting his first victim.

Said jackass does not have eyes on the back of his head and unlike in the movies you have to focus on what you intend to shoot or you will usually miss!

The only deterrent that matters to someone hellbent on such an act is that their heinous plans will not succeed.

The only calculus that matters when the jackass intending such an act gets to choose when and where he attacks, and thus can (and as we continually see happen, will) select what they consider to be a "soft" location for their assault is whether respect for the Second Amendment as written and the decision to be prepared by the persons there materially changes the odds of said assault being successful.

That's the beginning and end of it folks, and we must as a nation stand up and demand that our Constitution be enforced as that is the only means of effective deterrence against such acts as what happened yesterday.

Good article. My wife and I were discussing this very issue last night as we watched the news. The article is correct, in that unless a person has a defensive weapon "IMMEDIATELY available, in any kind of event such as this, they will definitely be a target of opportunity, and more than likely, a victim.

As this event now has all the standard appearances of being at least associated with a terrorist group, this is a quote out of a news article that I found this morning.

This is an example of exactly WHY we are distrustful of the Muslim faith. I feel it is probably true that there is no issue of the 99 percent of people of Muslim faith, but that extra 1 percent causes great anguish, as they view anyone (not just Americans) that isn't Muslim as unholy and that they should be eradicated.

If you look at this classic case, it was someone of Muslim faith that had been born here in the US, lived normally within American society and then suddenly became radicalized enough to perform this act.

Given this, how do I know my hypothetical next door Muslim neighbor whom I have known for years won't do the same thing. There is no way to prevent this and while I think that our country was established on diversity of cultures, we should have a harder look at any culture that has a faction that actively promotes terrorism, and right now, it is only the Muslim culture that comes to mind.

I'm a gun owner, with a carry permit. I have a question...

There are 357 million guns in the U.S.

11.1 million people have a carry permit.

There have been approximately 355 mass shootings in the U.S. in 2015 so far.

How come only about 8 (since about 1998) of them have been stopped by a civilian with a gun?

Res ipsa loquitur.

My best guess would be that a lot of people with permits do not regularly carry. I did this week for the first time in almost 20 years. So I'm as guilty as the rest. I've had my permit since 1972 and used to carry fairly regularly.

Probably because lawful gun owners obey the gun free zones, you know, where most of the shootings happen.

BTW, do you carry your gun to church, or work, or school?

Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!

a lot can be said for either side of defence and/or justification. Remember "live by the sword die by the sword" and all else in the matter of balance. Now if Mohamed preached violence a hundred fold for violence then he was absolutely NO PEACE MAKER but an imposter, so where do you think this leads?

Has anyone read the muslim children's books they distribute at their synagogues, utter nonsense in light of western knowledge education and intellect.

There's going to come a day when anyone who is not right with the one father's perfection will be finished once and forever, the book of LIFE says that and that Jesus did not change the laws of Moses but PERFECTED THEM, "thou shalt not kill" period.

I've been getting quite the awakening lately in many respects of things beyond average comprehension. I do have much experience with muslims (neighbor) and middle easterners, there's a lot in the city I'm in A LOT and many are backward, very tarde' aka HELD BACK.

so with that we can learn to forgive for their lack of intellect and begin to re-educate them on the true nature of all things GOD by living and acting as Jesus would. The world is passing, nothing will be saved, we're only temporary to learn of ourselves and others.

Heyo, the father has been very evident to my own knowledge thru-out my life and now even in rc helicopters in ways I cannot divulge, yet.

Pray for them that they wake up from the ignorance and brain washing of anyone other than the father who visited earth through the flesh of Jesus the gifted one, HEY ZUES the creator who has both life and death in his hands, is all.

careful out there, we've all fallen short of perfection in some way or another, don't lie you haven't, it'll probably bite you in the arse one day if you don't make amends "mend" being the operative.

aren't we dealing with a people still yoked to some very dark ages of human abuse? It exists in the west but at much less frequency due to our wealth and opportunity,

think about it.

just finished reading about the origins of the "Gladiator" during Roman times, problems, big problems and human abuses.

There's no hope for people who don't change with their surroundings, but the west has got to be vigilant, not violent however.

I find it highly amusing that every time Obama opens his yapper about guns, sales go thru the roof. He does more good for the manufacturers than the NRA has ever drempt about doing. I think it would be hilarious to have the manufacturers gather together and give him an award for being their champion of sales.... .

Obama is a politician. And a good one. A very good politician. He is President of the United States. That is more a statement of his political abilities than leadership abilities. You don't get to be the PotUS without being one of the absolute very best politicians on the globe.

With the above in mind, study the included link of Chicago shooting statistics. From the point of view of a politician, would it be in your interest to curb gun violence in Chicago? Study the link and ask yourself, of the 470 recorded shootings this year, are those Democrats or Republicans? Remember, if a Republican shoots and kills a Republican, you loose both as voters. One is dead and the other in prison and neither are voters.

If you were a political strategist and looking at Chicago's gun statistics, would you want to limit or expand gun access? When you look at Chicago's gun statistics from the viewpoint of a politician, are you gaining or loosing voters?

Notice I have avoided commenting on race, ethnicity, or personal judgments. I will leave that for you to decide. I'm simply looking at this from the perspective of a politician trying to create and maintain a voter base.

These statistics are only for Chicago. Chicago represents roughly 1% of America's population. If these stats are representative of the US's population, and factoring in birth rates for those committing gun violence, and then extrapolate out 2 decades, would you see a need to speak out on gun control?
