At the rate things are going, within five years we'll all be flying the exact same helicopter and your choice will be red or yellow....and it must be registered before it ships.
I seriously hope your wrong about that. Its bad enough that I can barely find parts for my nitros these days, let alone my electrics too.

This hobby may return to conditions like before the year of 2004, In numbers of pilots during the next decade. It certainly has peaked, Now it's wait and see how far it returns to normal.

For allot of people this hobby can be too demanding
My biggest obstacles are finding time and nice weather.
For others it something else getting in the way.

spending time, paying attention

Think that sentiment might be a little overstated.

From what I've read and understand, the new rules wont really affect the 3D heli community as much as the drone or camera ship guys. I'm not sweating any of it. I don't think they would really be able to effectively track and enforce violations anyways. It would take too much money and manpower.

Much more cost effective to simply restrict the airspace we are allowed to fly in (which they already do). Like flying too close to an active runway? Fine. You just volunteered your machine as target practice for the airport B.A.S.H program. No warnings...no apologies needed.

From what I've read and understand,
Which can change at a moments notice, given these ISIS swine.

Why not put these quads to good use and track down ISIS? Strap a nice country warming gift to the bottom of a drone (bomb) and fly it over to them!

Just a thought...

I like that idea! But.....

We have to deal with things like proportionality, distinction, and rules of engagement. Unless, ISIL is clearly identified and camped out in an area away from civilians, a drone/spam bomb contradicts our own ROEs since we might kill civilians or captives, which leads to escalation which leads to more incidents like Paris.

Remember, they are probably in the US too, I don't think you'd like the idea of a drone bomb whizzing past you while your at the mall having family time. How safe would you feel if we could blow up a bus full of people because one member was on it?

I don't think the public where these guys hide out now appreciates it either...otherwise, you're just making more recruits for ISIL. These guys are still someone's son, daughter, husband or whatever. So, every time time you pick one off, there's a chance you just gave them another member anyways....kill one another one pops up. This is not conventional warfare...no clear lines of distinction here.

I'm sure they know that and that's why they hide within the general public. ISIL doesn't follow LOAC, ROEs or the Geneva convention, but we still have to. It's a tough spot to be in for sure I bet there are a lot of people who'd love to take the muzzle off and go to town on ALL of them.

I think any answer other than Align is probably wrong. They aren't the best, but they are the most prolific.
