I'm in the second-batch so may not see mine until later-on in 2016 (July / August hopefully), first 50 should start to make their way to their new owners around April / May as Olivier posted

Very-cool, have you had a chance to get any Speed-runs in with the Uvalar / TDR-I set-up (?)

Nope. After I finish the build, I sold to a friend. This was back in 2013. Afterwards, I left the hobby and now I am starting to catch up with the 2 years I was out of the Hobby....
Reading and will get into a TDr 2 as soon as I can get a hold of one

Welcome back

There is a ton of new electronics, helis, blades, etc., ...... even since 2013.
I really like the "auto bail-out" and "rescue" features that are available with some-of the new fbl controllers !

Jan explained to me....that to achieve max speed....one must have the cyclic servos swing +/- 60 degs. from servo neutral.

It seems that very few servos can do this.

Since there will be a Belt-driven Tail-rotor set-up does anyone know what is best method for Anti-static kit (?)

I know that the Mikado A-S kits work for just about any application but I haven't seen any comments about installing something like this yet.

No need for any anti static kit, as it's all alu / cf construction.
So there should be electrical continuity throughout the airframe anyway.

Thanks

I did not ask permission but this video is just too-good not to share.
I think this definitely shows that the new TDR-2 is an extremely-capable Machine

Enjoy ;

SHOULD.. but check with a DVM to be absolutely sure...Most helis are CF and aluminum....and have static issues when belt driven...

This was my thinking as well and the reason I asked, definitely worth checking

Yes, confirm with a voltmeter.

There's no anti-static devices on my Diabolo, but it was necessary to remove a small patch of the alu tailboom's electro-coating at both ends to ensure conductivity.

I use the diode-tester-beeper-function for confirmation.

is the TDR 2 strictly a 14S setup or is 12S a good performer as well?

Thanks,
Jeff

Jan says on his site, that if you run 12s, to just bump the pinion a tooth over recommendations.

First 100 went to all German customers, next batch is international, due late Feb/early March. Received order form(option list) for that batch, and sent it back last week.

I am serious.....and don't call me Shirley.

Hill, I will use that of the Mikado technique for their tail belt drive.

Tailcase to boom....boom to mainframe....mainframe to aluminum motor mount...and then MM to the ESC negative on the main batt connector.

One can "rig" an anti-static connection without having to purchase anything from Mik.

Didn't mean to imply that.

Home Depot has all the components necessary at a cheaper price.

What's most important is the tail-case...thru the boom...to the side frame...and then to the motor mount....and then....to the negative connector of the ESC to main batt connector.

As a "tap" separate from that of an external SBEC.

Use a DVM to ensure such continuity throughout.
