Trying to setup and bind DX8 and R9D Receiver for Kylin 250 Quadcopter. Tried using bind plug in Receiver. There is a little button on side of receiver and one person said I need to hit button twice to make light red. Then turning on radio with holding bind button on radio. That does not work either. Anyone have a insight?
Quad uses OpenPilot on board. tried using setup wizard and it does not see the radio.
Help...

That receiver isnt compatible with Spektrum, it is proprietary to Radiolink. You won't be able to bind them.

They are both 2.4 megahertz and they will not bind?
I think they are Futaba.

No, 2.4 doesn't inter operate. Futaba, Spektrum (your dx8), Radiolink etc etc etc are all incompatible. You can get a clone Spektrum receiver to work with your DX8 like a LemonRX or Orangerx, but other than that your options are limited to a Spektrum receiver or getting a new radio. Getting a receiver is a lot less money.

You need a Spektrum compatible receiver. Or spend another $120 on a RadioLink transmitter.
