For the first time in over a year I have flown a full pack through a 180CFX. The new machine I purchased last week is just perfect in every way. I have installed the Lynx Servo Savers on the servos, I turned down the head speed to 3900 (in Castlelink) for FM-1 and 2, setup my dual rates/expo (75/35) and confirmed zero pitch at center. It just flies beautifully in FM-2 like a much bigger helicopter with a lower head speed like my 700s do. Smooth and predictable in the turns, rock solid in flight, smooth pirouettes. I am just so happy about this; to have a neat bird I can fly in front of the house without having to worry about it flying out of control or stuffing itself into the ground. Using the old 180 for spare parts, but will never use the old Talon15 and receiver for fear whatever virus they have will infect my new machine.

It's a shame I was never successful in finding the cause of my problems with the previous 180. But I do appreciate all the helpful suggestions given here and on Facebook. Sometimes you just have to know when to fold the blades and move on to something new.

Pretty funny. I fixed my "virus" by installing a completely different FBL unit (micro Ikon). The Talon 15 is fine.

I would sooner blame the receiver than the Talon. My LHS sent this heli into Horizon for service. They said there was nothing wrong with it. I can assure there was something seriously wrong. They either did not take the time to test it properly or they forgot how a real heli is supposed to fly. Color me upset just a little. I might add this was the only time they let me down. Every other service incident I have had with them has been superb. Go figure.

I have had my share of Blade and e-flite. I just don't bother with them anymore.
I hope you get to enjoy yours.

I think I am going to give the iKon a try. I enjoy trying something new and if this fixes my problem, I will be sending my old Spektrum AR6335 back to Horizon with a polite, respectful, but none-the-less, no matter how you wish to couch the language, nasty letter.

And, snuck in another beautiful flight this afternoon with the 180. I am loving it for sure.
