I Believe never had a engine in it Nicely built I believe only missing Motor belt drive gear & belt Clutch looks new some Disassembly needed as Origonal bearing Grease has dried Origonal Main & Tail blades a few spares New Clutch bell & driven half of Clutch Someone must want a piece of heli history I can do 27500 shipped best I can do as shipping will be close to a 100.00 Shipped ]/gallery/7053/KAVAN_JETRAN_00000.jpg[/PHOTO]

Had one once[early 80's] but it got lost moving around too much.
Flew very spongy and doey with a OS 60 FSHR[needed a .90 size motor back then-but the new .50's would be fine now.

Setting up the origional servos and linkages under the roof was an experianced--but it worked well to compensate for powering on and off to stop tail swing.
Could be frowen scale mode easily with no gyro and light winds.
The small drive HTD belt pully[not showen] that goes on the motor was made of soft Al and wore out very quickly.
I had one made out of 7000series Al, and no more wear.

Shame your not nearer Australia--but the postage to here would be $300+ on top of your price.

Good Heli flying is throwing it at the ground and missing

Mechanics look glued to the top cover, very dangerous!!!

Mechanics top plate needs to be bolted to top of fuse. Top cover is just that a cover, it does not have support strength as it sits and could be dangerous to someone who doesn't know better.

Thats the way the Heli is Designed I flew one years ago that way never a problem obviously you never Built one

I had one of the first Kavans available in the US, and it flew ok, but the very next year(74) it was improved. It flew ok with a .60, but would have flown much better with a more modern .60, and a true heli radio with mixing.

I had mine late 70's First with a Super Tiger BlueHead was the best engine of the day would overheat after about 2 minuates if you set it lean enough for any power when the Webra Speed became available that changed the flight characteristic increased the head speed a couple hundred RPM's tail up about 600 that along with the improvements Kavan sent out to Registered owners to enable the paddles to change angles with the swashplate then the washuot and the larger wood paddles inplace of the small metal paddles made it very flyable although its design has a very limited pitch range i think i had about +3 to +10 as it took about 7 degrees to hover it was the best of the helis until the Heliboy came along Dunedinflyer

I have built 2. Top plate with mechanics should be bolted seperately for better safety and less system failure. Attached is a link of me flying the latest restored with the original 1979 Flybarless rigid rotor and no stabilization. Engine is an original Supertiger Blue Head, tuned on the bench and reinstaled.
