Russia is after bases not oil. they want to populate and base every area of the world.
They might be after everything but base as usual
They have no airbase outside of Moscow other than
SYRIA that why they're so supportive of the Assad Regime.

Ummmm. Excuse me.

Shale deposits ????

What the heck are you talking about ???

Show me just one quote when I personally said anything about shale deposits.
Touche... You are right, you didn't actually use the word shale. I ASSUMED you meant shale because thats the only working theory for where such large quantities of oil might come from if it was economically viable to dig up.

https://rc.runryder.com/t797811p1/

So tell us then, where is this magic 400 years of oil coming from since neither the CIA, EIA, IEA or the major oil companies mention it?

Hmm,

World Wars have been started over less than this.

But I think we'll be OK. Basically, we'll be able to stay out of war by paying ransom to Russia to keep them from attacking a NATO ally.

So basically, as with everything else going on, we'll end up paying.

It'll be handled diplomatically, but just how many times can we give something up because one of our little brothers picked a fight with a giant bully? Eventually we're going to get pulled in.

Putin vows 'tragic consequences' for Turkey
"Today's loss is a stab in Russia’s back delivered by terrorist accomplices" that won't be tolerated, Putin said.

"Instead of immediately establishing contact with Russia, as far as I am aware, the Turkish side contacted its NATO allies," Putin said. "Do they want NATO to serve the interests of the Islamic State?"

Putin told Russia's RT news service the plane was targeting terrorists in Syria's Latakia province. “This incident stands out against the usual fight against terrorism," Putin said. "Our troops are fighting heroically against terrorists, risking their lives."

The Russian Defense Ministry said flight monitoring data confirms Putin's claims that the plane did not stray into Turkish airspace.

“We have always treated Turkey as not only a close neighbor, but also as a friendly nation,” Putin said. “I don’t know who has an interest in what happened today, but we certainly don’t.”

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...urkey/76304154/

This is outrageous of Turkey. Those idiots may plunge the world into WWIII. The only thing stopping escalation will be restrain by Putin. NATO should blast Turkey by telling them: "You have poked the Bear...you can suffer his wrath...don't come crying to us when you do stupid stuff".

Humor me and post the links again, Dennis, as I must have missed it.

Every source I've ever read puts current USA proven reserves around 30-40 billion barrels, with estimates of undiscovered reserves of up to 200 billion.

This works out or about 5 years consumption using the proven stuff if we stopped all imports tomorrow. 30 years worth at the outside if every drop of unproven reserve pans out and proves viable. 10 and 60 years respectively at our current rate of importing half of what we burn.

If we stopped all imports tomorrow, we might be in a bind. That's because the left and the environmental weirdo's put the brakes on most new oil drilling and even exploration and our government regulatory bodies place so many regulations on the oil business, that they make it extremely expensive and in some cases impossible to retrieve fossil fuels.

As far as me repeating those links, do it yourself or go back to my original posting. You ain't helpless. It all depends on the question you ask.

One other thing. Any piece of information you get on the Internet, I can find just as many links countering any links you might show. So, you need to use your brain a bit.

Get to it.

BTW: our greatest asset here in the USA is natural gas. Trillions and trillions of gallons are available. All we have to do is go get it.

Luckily people in power have a little more restraint and level headedness or we wouldn't be able to have this conversation.

"Its there you go find it" is a typically trolling tactic of those who are not confident in their argument.

I looked and I cant find anything that backs up your claim except shale. So again, post it or I dont believe you.

But your right, environmentalists should put the brakes on drilling it all as there wont be much point swimming in endless energy if we make the planet unlivable in the process.

Adding to the tensions were the fates of the two Russian pilots aboard the bomber. Turkmen rebels operating in the area of Syria where the plane went down appeared to claim in a video that they shot both pilots to death as they parachuted toward the ground. CNN couldn't independently confirm the claim.

The Russian military said it believed one of the pilots was dead. Wednesday morning, though, the Russian Defense ministry said the second pilot had been rescued. The ministry said the pilot was safe at the Hmeymim airbase.

The Russian military also said a Russian marine was killed after a helicopter came under attack during the search-and-rescue efforts.

5 things to know about the downing of the Russian jet

Russia's first acknowledged casualties in Syria
The reported deaths are Russia's first acknowledged casualties in Syria since it waded into the bitter, complex conflict less than two months ago.

Still, they lost a pretty expensive plane. I'm sure they'll want reparations. Good to hear the pilots survived. Bet they won't do that again.
