Is that 61% all it'll tolerate without a wag?

I usually do a fast funnel and backward fast turns and listen for a buzz , when I hear it I drop the gain about 2% , so I get a buzz at 63% , if I hover the heli I can raise the gain a bit before I get a wag( but I don't raise the gain in a hover till I get a wag then back it down)

well I have to thank you again , I revisited my tail tuning and managed to get to 81% before I could get it to wag and that was in a tight full collective funnel , the head started to bog so I stopped it but I reduced it to 79% anyway,
I still have the right roll with elevator inputs , should I forget about it?
once the tail was tuned more I noticed that in piro's one side( will have to look more closely next time) is slower to get going and right stick piros coast a little on the stop I tried adjusting control delay out from 2 to 20 but it didn't appear to make a difference( I held right rudder to adjust) I will have to check exactly what servo I have but off the top of my head its a bk brushless running at 6v , I think its a hv servo but my cyclics are futabas and need 6v would that make a difference?

6v on an hv servo is generally fine.

I want you to go through the swash detail menu and dial out the mechanical swashplate interactions. I'm betting you have not yet done that.

I haven't the only thing I did in that menu was to make sure it was level top and bottom (and middle) I know its probably obvious but how do I do what you are asking ,just a few details to get me started would be helpful
thanks again

Tuning
Hey Anthony,

I am learning the CGY as well , but I think Dr Ben is talking about in the Swash Detail , items numbered 8,9,11 and 12 per the 2.0 manual.

ok I went through the swash detail menu , let me know if this is the right way to adjust each parameter , I marked the mainshaft with a sharpie at midstick , high stick and low stick then went through the adjustments looking at the marks I made and trying to get the heim ball stationary with elevator and aileron inputs , there were a few adjustments I will see what happens tomorrow , I also went through the rudder basic menu as well just to double check and found that the rudder needed endpoint adjustment too . not really sure what happened I thought i'd been through all the menu's but I guess not , looking forward to tomorrow to see what if any difference there is

That's correct Anthony. I needed you to do that to rule out an mechanical interactions because what you're describing really has not been reported with V2.0 firmware.

good morning, well I think you cracked it , there is still a very small interaction with elevator but I'm putting that down to me , tik toks are now clean and rainbows are good too, even the rudder is behaving itself now being even in both directions and the stops are almost identical.
not really sure why but the adjustments I made apart from 1 was to reverse the correction direction and then it all stayed still . but again it was a good learning experience. thank you again

which ones , I think most of my issues were with interactions that shouldn't have been there , once I went through the swash detail map most of issues I was having got cleared up

I finished on 79%, I also changed the delay out from 12 to 10 for right piro's and from 12 to 14 for left(its from memory it could be the other way round)also the piro speed was a little insane so I dropped it to 600

i'm going to change the tail blades on my gaui x3 from the stock 62 mm plastic blades to some 60 - 62 mm carbon's , the blades have a much wider chord , I know I might need to play with the gain and maybe the stopping values but is there anything else I should look at?

I tried the 60 mm switch blades this morning , the gain remained the same but the delay out I had to go up a lot to stop bounce back, is this the right parameter for this? it seemed to work , the tail feels a lot better with the wider chord blades .
I did notice a little whipping on the elevator in continuous flips but it was windy is it something I should worry about , I am going to double check when there is less wind

i'm going to try the stock gearing on my x3 but with the wider chord blades , the highest gain I can get at the moment with the speed up pulley is 36% I want to see if it will make a difference slowing the tail down a little , I also have the 68mm blades I can try with the stock gearing , again just to see

Anthony,

Out delay is correct. The tail will never hold very well with gyro gain that low. What size rudder servo arm radius and what are the rud lmts set to?
