Plans
The plans are to move the OWB to the main gear and soon, maybe in the next month. Josef plans to offer an update to existing owners where you can just change over to the new design and eliminate the OWB original design issues.

I have not put the new gears in my whiplash as of yet, the originals are working and I figured get more life out of them before pulling them out, next service event I'll replace them. I also have to replace the 422 one way I have, it's nearing EOL, I have a spare not sure if I will do it here in FL or wait until I get back.

I too have a Spectra flybarless a 1005 and I would love a new improved whiplash gasser to complete the min air gasser set.

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

Looking for a good FBL System
I had the iKon on my whip and let's just say the auto leveling left something to be desired. I did a rebuild and switched to a msg brain (same thing as iKon) but now have a back and forth head shake.
I ordered a complete tail assembly from the front gears to the tail rotor assembly. The whole thing is straight and not crashed. I am going to be assembling next week when I get home from Vermont.

What are guys using for a FBL unit that they are happy with? Right now I am using a Spektrum radio if that matters at all. Ideally I would like something with a governor.
Thanks!
Scott

Bavarian Demon works great on gassers as well as the self leveling either upright or inverted whichever is closest. Collective is taken over too so you wont pile it in. No Gov though.

if self leveling is important, its hard to beat the BD

if you don't care about that, then you'll have great results with the Neo, GY750, Skookum or Spartan, all of which have built in governors

I just placed my first order with Miniature!
Ordered a bunch of spares for the Spectra and a few for the whippy, the website showed $10 shipping at the end of the order so that is pretty good, German post. Not sure of the final figure yet but looks promising for sure for those that were concerned shipping was going to be expensive.

BD is going to come out with a unit with a governor, but they are not 'in a rush' as the money is with the airplane guys now all those scale and jet guys wanting a demon equivalent (called Cortex) in their airplanes. When it comes it comes I suppose, for now the current 3SX demons fly awesome for me and I just use the GV-1 to complement them.

I flew the Raptor once today, trouble with collective its jumping here and there. Put it away, and flew the whiplash instead, 5 flights in a row, that thing is just eating up the sky, flew perfect I enjoyed the afternoon even though it was cold for most (23F down to 13F). Tonight I figured out the Raptor issue, my servo wire is breaking at the point it enters the servo, so I just replaced it with another and will send the old servo for service tomorrow on the way to the field.

Beastx Plus is a great solution for bailout and governor in an all-in-one package as well.

I'm running it on 2 gassers and am very happy with the results.

And does the governor and bailout work good ?

P.S. sorry for the spelling or the grammar I am dyslexic!

Yes, they both do. As anything else with gassers it seems, it took some trial and error, but both functions work well.

The governor doesn't like the rich, break in part of engine tuning, but once broken in and tuned works as well as any nitro governor I've used.

Vibes are the enemy of bailout functions, so again, I would wait until the engine is broken in and tuned well before relying on it. But i have used it with success in real world situations and now count on it working for me.
