I really don't see the need to operate that low. All a helo can do is keep a light on the suspect while ground based assets make the arrest.
What you personally "see" or "don't see" doesn't matter. Also, in regard to your comment about the searchlight, who said this happened at night?

That wasn't really an answer. I've operated plenty of full size military and civilian aircraft. Granted it was all fixed wing, but still, I know what 500' and 200' look like. LOW. 500' while maneuvering over populated areas is LOW whether it's day/night and whether 50 or 200 knots. So your "you just don't get it" dismissal is hardly an answer.

What specifically is a heli able to do, criminal tracking wise, at 200' that one at 500' could not?

If we're talking military operations, trying to close range with door gunners, or needing to get a rappel insertion, OK. But that crap isn't happening in downtown LA or Podunkville USA.

Not convinced there's any efficacy to this worth the risk. And hoping it's not true.

In my example, it was operated in a manner not currently interfering with full scale aircraft. And, you can't give way to something you can't see/hear when it's coming in low and fast. Go back and read it again.

But, nice to see even here on a MODELERS' forum there are those who would still sell us out because it's ALWAYS the modeler's fault, right? And, you'll use anything to justify it even when the rules/regs are being followed and/or may not even apply. Typical retarded "zero tolerance" mindset.

Go back and re-read my example...again... If you can't understand it...again...then you fail. Just quit now. And, if you're trying trying to sling insults, at least get your posting correct with using all the words.

Yeah, that whole 180 degree field behind you and outside your peripheral vision just doesn't apply, right? Go ahead and keep on failing because you're quite excellent at it.

Ah, I see... You're one of these "got to have the last word at all costs" types. Even when wrong. So, have at it. C-ya because you aren't ever going to get it anyway. But, please...post again because I'm sure you will.

Popular Mechanics, brought to you by the kid that posted videos of the MR and a semi-automatic handgun firing in the woods.

This kid's story is not going to end well. An aside note: I don't care for fuel doused dressing. It gives me diarrhea and highly flammable flatulence(more than usual).

I will have to say this is not going to end well for our hobby. I am interested in Drones but do not own a large drone. I prefer to fly Pod and Boom heli's and airplanes. The technology for drones is evolving quickly. Before you have it in the air tech changes.
