Direct competitor to Scorpion 4525 520KV
I have tried a few motors with the Scorpion brand being my favorite so far. I have found my favorite motor to be the 4525 520KV for 700s. I like the power and I get have always gotten 4-5 min depending on gearing. I tried the 4530 540KV and found it to be a power hungry motor with not a lot more power. I am seeing a lot of motors bigger than the 4525 IE- CC, KDE, Quantum. My question is does anyone have an equivalent motor to recommend that will be as efficient that is not a Pyro?

Thanks in advance
I have a 3D heli, I don't understand why it doesn't do 3D.

The KDE 700-535 motor is a very good one. Some of the highest efficiency out there. If you look it up the weight will show quite a bit heavier. As with everything you have to make sure how it is weighed. Some motor companies weight with the wires and some without so you have to make sure on what you are looking at. Power wise the KDE is second to none they are very powerful. Dependability wise they are some of the most dependable motors out there. You don't have to oil bearings or nothing as they just keep working. Support is awesome. Patrick is always willing to help and you don't have to send the motor to china just to Oregon. Xnova motors are nice from what I have seen also but wow are they expensive. I am afraid I cant see $100 more for the same motor so our choice is KDETeam Jr

I have been hearing some good things about the XNova motors and have a 4530-500 coming to put into a Protos Max V2.

You missed a great afternoon to fly.

I was looking at the Xnova and the KDE but the specs look the same as the 4530-540LE. I have never had a motor heat up packs like that one. I tried going super low on the gearing and it still used a lot of juice.I have a 3D heli, I don't understand why it doesn't do 3D.

Make sure you are looking at the KDE 535 and not the 505. The 505 is a big motor with tons of power. Most not needed but is a ton of fun to have.Team Jr

Some of these motors are capable of pulling an insane amount of power. One of the XNova motors (4535 Series) can do 13,000 watts for two seconds, that will put a hurt on your ESC and batteries. I believe some of these motors have outpaced the upstream support equipment.

You are correct I think also. That xnova motor and the kde700-505 motor will both pull 13000 watts which is a bunch. We have backed our motors down to smaller ones and they are also a little lighter so the Heli flies better. Plus they fit better under the canopyTeam Jr
