How is that going to work? Both using the same date in the same month. That can't be correct. I'll by Aug. 1st -4th Nats. But I can't believe IRCHA Aug. 3rd - 7th going on the same time.

They've done that numerous times in the past, so that the heli guys only have to make one trip to AMA to do both the Nats and IRCHA.

Works out pretty well! They get more participation at the Nats as well as IRCHA...

Wow, If your trying to fly scale and you have someone flying 3D stuff next to you. Unless they will keep us far enough apart.
I really don't want to have a 3D flyer getting into my Long Ranger in with all the air brush art work on it.
I understand you can get more people and do it all at once.

Thanks Chris Your a hell of a guy. You going?

It is tough and can be troublesome at times having to dodge the 3D machines. BUT, you get bonus points for completing a successful evasive maneuver - which might be enough to make or break a win. So it is not all bad.

Seriously though, the NAT site and the IRCHA site are pretty dang far from each other. IRCHA traffic on the 3rd and 4th will be very light anyway. They (AMA and IRCHA) have it figured out and do a VERY good job of it. ZERO chance of interference.

Ircha actually kicks off after the heli nats is over. this year we wrapped up flying and awards by Wednesday and by Thursday ircha was getting started unofficially. at ircha, the scale area is away from the 3d action so theres absolutely no worry of 3d interference with your scale flying. if you set up at the scale area and you want to fly your 3d machine, the closest 3d pilot station is only a stones throw drive a rotary, fly a rotorcraft

Here are the dates:

RC Helicopter ( NATS) Aug. 1-4
IRCHA Aug. 3-7

So the NATS is not over when IRCHA is going on

That should be far away from those 3D flyers

The NATS flying site is so far away from the IRCHA flying site that you almost cant see the models in the air form one site to the other. Maybe if you had Chuck Norris vision you could see them, but I cant. Again, the dates have overlapped for a few years. It is a non-issue. It truly is nothing to worry about.

I am already putting in for my time off now at work so I can attend the NATS next year. I wanna have some fun and compete and do some learning from the big boys. I think I might actually have a really good chance at finishing last!!
