So I have this old Sceadu that used to have an older R921X receiver with an even older G500T gyro controlled by a X9503 radio. That was before I upgraded.

The 'ol bird now has a new RG731BX receiver, SGS-01 gyro w/ MP82GWV servo being controlled with a brand new XG14 radio. I've gone through the setup in the new radio with the Sceadu manual in hand and the gyro setup instructions, and everything seems in order and going the right direction. However something isn't right...

When starting to spool up it seems the gyro isn't telling the tail to compensate and the bird will just spin with no tail authority if I let it. The gyro instructions say to make REVOLUTION MIX=0% - where the heck do I find that in the new XG14?

Can someone help me properly set up GYRO SENS in the XG14?

also - what is TAIL CURVE and do I need to set it up?

No you don't need the tail curve. The revolution mix I think is default at 0. I don't have mine in front of me as I am at work right now but when I get home this afternoon I can look and answer if nobody else does. Without seeing it tho I would guess you have the gyro correction backwards. Usually this is the case and 99% of the time when I have helped someone they have always said it was right and it was wrong so check that close. Make sure if you move the tail a direction the trailing edge of the blade goes that way also. If it don't there is the problem more likely. I will check my radio when I get home but I have never had to do anything with revo mixing with any of my radios

Thanks LaDon
Here's how it's set up now

I think this is what you mean when you mention "move the tail a direction the trailing edge of the blade goes that way also."

So based on the rotation of the tail rotor it would appear I need to reverse the pitch of the blades.

Yes according to the picture you are backwards. Also to set up gyros sense in the radio you need to go to the device manager page and turn channel 5 on and set it to gyro. Then you can just go to the gyro sense page and set your percent there. You can also set which switch you want to change the setting in the device selection page too

Is it best to change the servo direction in the radio REVERSE SW screen (set to NORM now) or should I do it in the gyro setup? And shouldn't I set the left and right limits again after switching the direction? I mind as well set up the gyro properly I'm thinking.

In the radio I have already set Device Select CH 5 DEVICE to GEAR SW and OUT to GYRO. What is the correct setup for the GYRO SENS menu options? And on Page 2 what should the SW: option be set to? It's set to AUTO now.

I thought the GEAR switch is supposed to change between NORMAL and T.LOCK mode? Mine does nothing right now

Thanks for the help!!!

There should be a way to reverse the compensation. I don't know the sgs01 at all but there should be a way. If you change the radio then the stick will be wrong if you have that right. If your stick is operating backwards then that prolly would fix it. Your first picture is the way it should go if you move the stick to the left. Then when you slide the tail to the right it needs to go opposite of the way it is for the stick to compensate. Make absolute sure you have the stick going the right direction first. You fly the nose of the Heli so if you move the stick right the nose should go right. Then go to moving the tail. If you slide it right the trailing edge needs to go the same way. If it doesn't you reverse it in the gyro with the buttons on the gyro. Here is a link to the instructions and it will tell you how or what the led should be showing. On the gyro sense you need to change the n to a t or s for tail lock by highlighting it. Then you can change your gains the same way. If you move the switch it should have a little arrow that travels between the three. If not the switch is not set right. See what happens doing that

Issue resolved LaDon. I could've sworn I'd done this before to try and resolve it, but the Gyro was in Reverse Setting Mode instead of Normal. So I went through the rest of the Gyro Setup after switching it to Normal mode and set L and R limits. A quick check of all the servos and she was up in the air.

I have to tweak a little blade track and my carb, but that's simple stuff!

Thanks for the help!
