My bad, I meant how did you remove the tail from the wood template? The cuts are so thin and straight.

E820, Raptor G4N, X50F/E, E620, Forza 450, and some planks.

I was hoping I would walk into the shop one morning and it would be all done.

This will be the plug to make the molds. Once the plug is complete, it will be used as a master to make individual molds. The molds will them be used to make the individual parts of the fuse. Once all the parts are made, they will be put together to make thew complete fuse.

That's the plan any way.

I am not sure just yet exactly how many molds will be needed. I believe 8 pairs for 16 half's and 1 stand alone. The wings and sponsons will be 6 molds alone. The dog house could be 3 or 4 not sure yet.

I have made molds in the past yet not this complex.

Evening,

When I planned the main fuse, I wished to make the dog house and cockpit cowl removable. I felt it would be easier to make them removable from the master, and make the molds separate from the main fuse section.

I installed a couple pins and brass guides to locate the dog house and cowl to the main fuse. This keep them in place while shaping as a unit. Once the shaping is complete, I can mold the smaller pieces.

After installing the pins, I started shaping.

There is a long way to go but off to a fair start.

Can you use standard polyester vinyl resin on that foam, or do you plan to use epoxy resin?

Going to be a tight fit.

This is not the gear I will be using. This KDE gear is 116 mm where the gear that will be used is 120 mm.

You can always use a two stage geartrain if it doesn't fit. Looks great so far. Are you going to be using cross sections from plans or shape the fuselage by eye?

I have several detail drawings. It being so narrow, I am not making a sub frame to fill in the holes for the plug, but making station templates to check the outside dimension.

The basic shape is really simple. This seamed to be the best way to go then round off the edges, sort of.
