Very nice! Gonna look closely at that gear lock system. Did you make those parts?

UIH,

I have a set of test wings made and mounted up for some flights. I want to see how this things fly's with the wings in place to see if I need to adjust the AOA. I was hoping to get out and fly today with the wings installed and the gear up however the weather is not as nice as I had hoped. Tomorrow is a soggy mess so maybe Sunday. Will have someone shoot a vid.

I did start laying out the wing structure for the speed brakes and servo placement. Not sure it will be as the pics show but its a start. Will use a MKS wing servo to work the boards. The control rods will run along the aft side of the wing as there was not really enough room on the forward side for that stuff. Going to be a tight fit for sure.

A few pic's

UIH,

B

UIH,

I got the speed brakes on the upper wing working. It looks pretty cool. I still have to bond the servo arms to the boards. Now they are held no by some double sided tape that's pretty tough.

A few pics and a short vid. They pretty cool.

Butch
Do you think the sections of the actual brake may need a stifiner underside so the glass does not push back when in use, or are these for static on the table fun only?

Yes,

They do need some stiffeners as I do want to deploy them in flight. Think that will look really cool.

Getting the geometry correct for the top and bottom out boards is giving me a bit of a fit. The wing is very thin towards the end and getting the upper and lower boards connected to the bell crank is being a PITA. Ha. If the board arm is off a tiny bit it does not move correctly.

I will get it though.

Update vid

Just a couple minor adjustments and I believe the functionality is good.
