UIH,

Some progress over the weekend. I had to install a longer shaft in the tail gearbox to move the tail hub about 10-12 mm to clear the fuse. That required a new slider, spacer and a longer shaft. All went together pretty nicely and works very smooth.

I was also able to get the "slave" main shaft replaced with a new one and all the turnbuckles installed for the swash to grips and servos to swash.

Also began thinking about wiring. This is not going to be fun.

UIH,

B

Thanks Stan,

Just need a motor and a couple weeks and it should be ready for a maiden. I will know about the motor in the next couple of days.
Not sure if it will be ready for Dalton but trying. The past couple of months have been pretty busy with work and contract stuff so a bit behind from where I had hoped to be. I would prefer to get the maiden in before Dalton but we will see.

Hello Charlie,

I saw you had one listed. 500kv is a little fast for this. The gearing is 15.9 to 1 so a 400kv puts me right in the ballpark for 1000 Nr. Looking at the HK4540-400. Its a monster motor and maybe some overkill but it's just what the Dr ordered.

No worries understand, better to be over powered than under don’t need low Nr on a pitch pull.

Ha

That funny. The full scale 76 comes out of maintenance today and things will be back to semi-normal. Now to get a crack-a-lackin on the 67. Times a wastin.

UIH,

Its alive.

Got this thing spooled. Everything is working as it is supposed to. I have a couple of minor things to address. I have a tail drive shaft bearing that is making some noise so will replace then all.

A few other pics

Maiden soon,

Ha yea. I thought my Comanche was a blivit with 5 lbs of schit in a 3 lb bag however my 67 is 5 lbs of schit in a 1 lb bag.

At only 5" wide everything had to be a pretty tight fit. The good thing, it all comes apart very easy. Disconnect a few wires and 6 bolts and the entire mechanics are on the bench. 5 screws and the TGB is out and 2 more screws and the tail drive system is out. Once the blades are removed within 5 to 7 minutes it can be ripped down to the basic fuse. It goes together almost as fast.

UIH,

My friend Hal took a cool video this weekend down at the field.

This was FLT-10. Will spend a day or two ripping it apart giving it a good looking over.

Enjoy,

UIH,

B
