Guys and gals, I'm in the process of building my kit and I'm just wondering if this is correct - I have a hunch the shaft should be shorter. It's extending 15.4mm beyond the bearing - is this OK?

I would trim it .. mainly because if you crash there's a good chance it will puncture your batteries (if it's not already in their way).

Just dremel it off a bit and grind any sharp edges down.

Thanks - easy enough. How much should it go past the bearing? 5mm or more? What is the "correct" length?

I don't think its critical as long as it protrudes slightly though the pinion bearing.

Exactly what tgalo said, not critical, shoot for 5-10mm.
