Hey guys, trying to help a buddy w. his blade 450x. One question is how to
change the status light/mode on startup initialization? Trying to get it to
h/h (blue), and just keeps starting up in rate (purple). Looking and looking through his manual, missing it somehow!

Also trims are NOT to be used in the Tx......or???

Your TX switch has to be in HH mode when you power up the heli. The AR7200BX will then initialize in HH mode.

No trims in TX. not sure what TX you are using. But make sure you are parameter two. Do this by holding down set button till the light turns solid and let go this will put the rx in parameter two mode. (Solid light) Push down set button, go to (b) and make sure you are in Transmitter mode. Blue light I think. Then you can adjust your gain through your TX. Hope this is what you need.

He has a Spec. DX6i with it. Will have to check w. him about the Tx mode
also. Thanks for the replys!

We had went through the 'setup' side of it w. everything according to manual. It flys ok, but the tail is very mushy and will creep left during
the hover.........and piro on around if left alone to do so.

You just have to use positive numbers for gyro gain to be in head holding mode. Negative numbers are rate mode.

Just as PilotPin said, change the values for the HH to positive values. It's not reading that it should be in HH cause the value is negative for that position (switch). Im not too familiar with the DX6 but it should be the "Gear" channel in the "Travel Adjustment" menu. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Ps. While changing the value, you should see the led change from purple to blue which shows its in HH...

Yeah, thought that was the case; does it need a full reset, or a re-bind
to get rid of any possible trims? (as in the trim sliders being used)

No, it shouldn't, but it wouldn't hurt cause who knows what it was bound at before hand...

You guys were spot-on! Found the rate switch, and in his radio, the actual
gyro menu is used....no gear in travel adj. His tail is locked hands off.
He is happy and thank you again!

Awesome man, anytime! When the Gyro menu is used, it is done with the same fashion as the Gear Channel rates. I'm glad you got it...
