I recently had an MKS tail servo fail in my N5C. Send an email to MKS over a week ago via their web page with no response. Anyone know how to get in touch?

After having a problem with an MKS669, I decided to get in contact with them. Took a while, but Thomas finally got in touch with me. Communication was ok.

As a side note, I hate the MKS HBL669.

Dan,
Did you try giving them a call? I emailed them once a few months back and didn't get a response either.

It wasn't an HBL980 was it?

Yeah, Thomas is on island time or something. At some point I had to not care, and eventually he got around to me.

oops, bounced it!

Sorry to hear about the lost Dan, hopefully it didn't fall amongst the corn field never to be seen again.

I did send a few MKS servos in. Took more than 2 weeks to respond with an RMA Number. Had them for another 10 days and than shipped back with no notice. I was kinda in the dark without constant updates. I compare them to USPS tracking compared to UPS tracking. But in the end, I did get them back and they did take care of me well. I wasn't in a rush... Didn't bother me. I wouldn't sweat it, as along as it made it there ... You will be fine.

Your 669 is more than plenty fast...those work really well. I'll use those over the 980's any day.

BTW
Had a few 980 horror stories, I had dumped all 5 of my 980 since.

Thanks Soggy

What is the problem with the 980? I have got multiple, some probably 4 years old with no problems. This is my first MKS failure

MKS had a recall notice on the BL980 years ago, something about a issue with improper grease causing gears to jam. I have a MKS HBL990 running straight off a 2S lipo and its been rock solid.

I had been looking at MKS for my next set, this is very dissppointing to hear.

It amazes me how many companies don't have a clue when it comes to customer service. They are killing future sales.

I just got off the phone with MKS USA 832-287-2371 and spoke with Thomas.

He informed me they are updating their system which is why the possible issue with email and they have been traveling. I have faith in MKS and they are outstanding servos imo.

I've always had good luck with MKS product and excellent service. I know from talking to him over the phone when I sent one of my servo's in to be looked at he is a very competitive glider pilot and attends a ton of events in both fixed wing and helicopter. I believe he is attending the Tuscon Aerobatic shootout coming up real soon. It's good to actually have a manufacturer who is active in the market. I've had good luck calling the 832-287-2371 number to.

Yeah, I want to be clear I like Thomas just fine, quite a bit, actually, and he tried to help me at IRCHA. I don't begrudge him his hobbies and other commitments, but... as a customer, some things matter on my end.

I've got a fair number of MKS servos... I'd happily buy them again in mini for my Protos 500 because they rock and if I totally destroy one I can eat it.

But needing to pull together another solution for a $200 X8 while I waited indefinitely was is not something I'd like to repeat.

I'll probably just lean away in that price class.

oops, bounced it!

I got an email last week, apparently it went to an old server or account. At any rate, new servo is here!
