how hot do these motors run? I have one in my goblin 630 ,4030-560 2.5y with a 23t pinion running 2250 governed with a CC120HV. it shut down last weekend and today after changing the PWm from 12khz to 8 and the motor timing to 3* it still runs hot . anyone have any ideas on suggestions on this.

I have a X Nova 4030-560kv and 4030-470kv with a Knotronik 120 Power Jive and Heli Jive respectively (both on Mode 4) with a 21T and 23T it comes down about 98~105 degrees on a 95 degree ambient day. I fly very hard 3D and motors has yet to shut down my Kontronik 120's but does shut down on my Knotronik 100's if I fly 3-4 packs in a row @ 80% throttle.

My Goblin 630 is
- swinging 660mm
- +12/-12 collective pitch
- +8/-8 on the cyclic
- Govern @ 2250/2350/2450 HS

Check your
- belt tension (too tight and you create parasitic drag)

My best guess is your CC ESC, can't handle it. The X Nova motors are powerful, very efficient, runs the coolest but will pull big spikes if you load the motor @ high timing & PWM. Trying backing down the timing some more.
