The Goblin 630 is already a tank and the 620mm will give it higher disc loading. I have lighten my Goblin 630 2lbs and swing 660mm and I still don't like it. If anything, you should go bigger blades:

- Rotor Tech 640mm or bigger (660mm max)
- Lighter packs
- Will let you drop the HS for better flight times

What did you do to it to lighten it by 2lbs?

Packs makes the biggest difference.
- 3700mah 45C pulse ultra x 2
- heli option battery tray
- kontronik heli jive 120HV
- xera 4030-470kv motor
- thin frames
- DS610M x 3 / BLS 251

disc loading characteristics lower, much like a 700 and agility is enhanced

I was testing on the Radix v2 625mm and its quite noticeable with the lighter airframe but yet still nothing like my Logo's. That was the whole point of the project.

Scott,

I'm in the same boat different bird..
What about using a scorpion 4025, that is nearly 100grams lighter than the motor you listed, or is it too small.. The 4030 probably puts a hurt on a 3700s with 640-660mm blades.

Jason,
Are you referring to Scorpion HK or HKIII? What airframe are you flying with? Either way, I have tried over 7 different motors and sticking to Xera / X-Nova. if it's a Scorpion HK 4025...in comparison to the Xera 4030 in the maneuvers I do, its noticeable. Now if you just fly around, it's all the same.

A lot has to do with collective management and how you load up the motor to seduce more torque. Selecting your HS for the correct power band and flying within that power band is crucial as well.

Blade length and cord will dictate what pitch range & HS to fly at and majority of the ESC's out there, will not support what you are trying to achieve on the fly and you will be limited to what you have geared the setup for.

Crespo,
My Kontronik doesn't not agree with the KDE 600XF-560kv and with the combination you suggest, it's heavier, equipment comes down hotter, packs are less than 15% for a 5:00 flight @ 2250 HS. The power to weight ratio is not as effective as with the setup I have suggested. I have tried it and didn't work well for me.

With my setup, I can fly from 5:30 ~ 8:00 of very good 3D and if I do pure Auto's ... I set my timer for 12 minutes and I can do as many take off's, auto and soft restart within that time period (batteries are at 32% when I'm done).

Either way, I haven't flown my G660 for some time. The math and calculations suggested a great setup... but results not satisfactory to me. This might be good compared to other Goblin 630's, but the Logo's have really set the standard.

I'm Using the 620s on my 570 stretch.

KDE 600-563 motor
Castle Talon 120
TATA packs 12s 50c.

5 minute flight comes down cool to warm with 58% left in the packs.

The goblin weights 3220g vs Logo 550SX weights 2150g RTF minus packs, 12S vs 6S and high vs low disc loading respectively

That is a big difference and I can feel it on my set maneuvers like piroflip reversals, pirouetting tic tocs with disc in to skid in transitions, knife edge maneuvers, auto rotations and other maneuvers that exploits weight and reveals the disk loading characteristics.

In terms of readings ... I always go for exact temp and data logging for accurate comparisons. Every setup works, but I'm striving for efficiency and that comes down to the:

- grams
- data graphs
- temperatures
- remaining mah capacity
- less heat means less wasted energy
- same flight profile for consistent results
