Dear All,

Recently bought a Phantom 3 Professional .I will be using a Samsung Galaxy Tab .
I'm interested in FPV but don't know where to start and how it's connected to the above.Do I just need to purchase the goggles as I'll be using the camera from the Phantom itself or do I need to purchase the entire FPV gear?
Would anyone have experience with the above machine let me know what they're doing? Bear in mind ,I wear glasses for short sightedness!
Thanks.

P3 is not really an FPV bird. The digital video down link has so much latency, you must stay well ahead of the bird and away from obstacles. While the downlink is sufficient to frame still photos and slow/high video shots, flying FPV in the contemporary fashion is not advised.

Also, the way digital video downlinks are "all or nothing" can cause you to lose awareness of the aircraft location and position relative to obstacles. You don't get noise or snowy video as with analog down links that allow you some limited visibility. Digital video will just freeze frame until solid link is re-established. If you are hovering in a particularly stable environment with a good gimbal, you may not even notice you've lost live video.

Thanks Erich. I was thinking there were some goggles that I could attach to the Phantom remote and see what is actually displayed on the tablet but of course in immersive viewing.
Well then ,that's okay .I'll get just use the tablet then .
Thanks,

I hooked up my pair of goggles to a phantom 2 vision plus(not mine), I was not impressed. The DJI hud takes up most of the screen and the video was indeed a bit choppy

Team Synergy, Team FBL Rotors-------if its not broke...it will be!

The latest models of FatShark goggles have HDMI input, so you could try that, if the P3 has the output.

I know nothing about these, but saw one at the field last weekend. The owner demo'ed it with an iPad and the lag wasn't bad. The iPad would get hot and video would begin to lag after 10 mins at 95 degrees ambient. He stated the cooler (ice pack) he forget took care of the problem. Any video issue and he could always RTH. He also said he tested the Tab3 and lag was unflyably horrible at all times. I was impressed with the flight and the video.

I'm running a phantom 3 advance with an nvidia shield tablet and ziess cinemizer goggles connected via hdmi. It's great, no noticeable latency and the video signal has been totally reliable but I tend to fly close to my subjects. However being an old school rc heli pilot it has been hard for me to get used to flying fpv. I can't speak to any one else's experiences but my own but keep in mind my statements are based on practice not theory.
