I got my brother a used 550 DFC and he's wanting to swap out the dampeners with some Truebloods.
His spindle bolts are not breaking loose.
What's the solution??? Just wondering if there's something less intrusive than him hitting it with a torch.
I've got a 550 DFC as well, but I've never had this issue.

You should be able to get them apart with 2 hex head keys. Maybe the person that assembled it used red Loctite!

Heat gun or soldering iron.

E820, Raptor G4N, X50F/E, E620, Forza 450, and some planks.

Someone used red Loctite where it didn't need to be used.

Heat is your friend. You may not need a torch, as others have suggested, but you're going to need heat. I hope it's not too late to where you've managed to round out the socket-heads in the spindle bolts.

FOR SURE IT WAS OVER OR RED LOCKTIGHTED. The machine is immaculate (I bought it used and sold it to him). I know heat would break it loose (I used to wrench my own MX race bikes) but I didn't want him hitting it with a torch.....
I'll let him know to heat it with the soldering iron. Dad has a monster heat gun, so he can always head over there if the iron doesn't work.
Luckily he managed NOT to strip the bolt heads...yet.

big no-no. Red isn't permanent, but it can be pretty close. Almost always takes heat to break it.
