Getting back in
So after being gone from the hobby for about 2 years, I am getting back in. Its been almost 2 years like I said. Ordered new 55c thunderpower lipos for the ever forgiving blade 400 and will be getting some magnum fuel this weekend for the big birds. Took the blade 400 out tonight and just had a blast doing some light 3d. I forgot how much fun this is! Funny though, it came back to me right away. Guess the brain doesn't forget those important things! Charged up all the receiver bats for the rappy and the sdx. Gonna go through them with a fine tooth comb. I was surprised to see some of my favorite heli shops have gone out of business though. ( Heliproz being the biggest shock). Looks like quads have really taken the spotlight though. Might be fun, but I cant imagine it would be the same as smelling nitro fumes. lol

I got back in july also after almost a 2 year break. It was weird seeing all the quad stuff taking over.

Yeah, was sad seeing H/P AND Readyheli go away. But Mikado USA has really
filled in the R/H spot pretty nicely!

Six years out for me! Went to the field a couple of times last year and was amazed to see the progress! No frequency board or pegs, no long aerials, no flybars and almost no nitro!

Things have moved on. All I've got left is a Trex 450 and this last week I've been flying it in my garden (yard) every day getting the feel back.

Love it! But I need some modern kit!

@AlanR8 - I felt the same way! That's why I dove head first into electric and I'm building a Synergy E7SE - amazing machine so far. I'm flying my old Sceadu w/37 in the meantime.

So a nice day today, we've had a week of them!

Decided to do some garden heli flying that I've been doing every day for the last week. Must have got to the over confident stage overnight.

Not one but two crashes this afternoon! Bugger. First bent the main shaft like a banana and chipped a blade. Fortunately I had spares.

Took about an hour to change the shaft. Went out again and bang! Main blades this time, no other apparent damage.

Swapped the blades out, liberal application of Super Glue on the chipped blade, some time spent balancing them using a long bolt and two coffee cups, and all seems to be well again.... Happy days!
