There is NO worry about parts if you talk to the right people.

Still. Look at the relative post traffic on these helis. It's like 10 to 1 Align. Sure, some might be the troubleshooting Aligns tend to need, but that can't explain ALL of that posting.
Just out of curiosity (raining all day today) I went and looked at the Align Trex electric thread. 1st page has 30 posts. Most are just informative, asking or offering information. One is a problem with a used ESC/motor (non Align) and 2 appear to be simple setup issues on a little 450. So 3 out of 30 at worst.

Looking at other threads of supposed "higher end" helis, it was at least 9 out of 30 about support issues, distributor issues, request for product improvement, upgrade suggestions, build issues, fbl setup trouble...

Align has come a long way over the years.

I am finding lately Align products,,heli kits are far higher priced than they used to be. Parts on older models are abit harder to find. Websites that carry lots of parts are diminishing.I am finding lately the BLING parts for lots of heli's of other brands from aftermarket companies are much higher in price from China these days,,,but maybe higher quality. You be the judge. Good news I hope to the OP Miniature Aircraft will be back and is making parts!! I don't want to be downer but RC helicopters seem to be dying not because they are not great but because the planet earth doesn't seem to like the learning curve. Plug and Play BAYBY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF???

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

Yeah, all attention is being paid to multirotors and electronics these days. I just got a hex, decked it out with full gps flight control, fpv and all that to see what it's all about.
It just never gave me the thrill nor the satisfaction. I even find a plank much more interesting.
I just don't get it...the thing hangs on the wall in my shop. I have no interest at all.
I suppose you hit the nail on the head...no effort to fly the thing. Turn off all the position control stuff and it flies like a basket case. What's the point?

I think if you're into FPV or any camera work, it's probably better. But for just flying around, you need a heli!

Is Tbird taking another year off?

Where'd he go?

E820, Raptor G4N, X50F/E, E620, Forza 450, and some planks.

A few of us are going to try the new craze. We are all getting the same 250 racing quad with FPV set ups so we can race each other. Just flying a quad around is fun for a while but we shall see what its like to have our virtual butts in the thing.
One thing we are not doing is getting a plug and play unit. We are all going to assemble the quad [no big deal] and buy our own fpv gear and install it .

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

Was RH really only a year ago?

But yeah, we lost a couple giants there.

But we can also talk about NEW companies not just one's shutting down.

I'll put one in for Mikado USA who took up as distro for Mikado in RH's death.

And VRC Hobbies (new Hirobo guys, Ron Lund gave up on Hirobo).

There's more but I'll need a hand.

Apart from multicopters, speed helis are getting more popular, low headspeed 3D, overspeeding is no longer a setup issue!, nitro's have vanished from 3D competition and Goblin have lots of new sizes of heli! Align heli's have kept improving although at the same time become boring as they go together so quickly, fly so well out of the box and need no upgrades, but it's ok Align will bring out a new version to keep your bordom at bay and give you something to spend your money on.

60% of the time, it works every time!

From a market share perspective. No.

For the record. I don't fly Align. I fly Mikado, what's left of Hirobo, and am considering JR. But all those brands together don't come close to the number of Align's out there.
From a market share perspective, no. NOT Align. Say what you will, but Blade very likely has more helis flying that all of those brands above and then some whether you or anyone else likes it or not.

Not at the field I fly at.....you never see blade helis. They serve up entry level helis to get started, but ince you get into the hobby you get a better heli. I was at a heli fun fly two weeks ago with 92 registered pilots...didnt see one Blade heli in the air all weekend.

I don't care about your specific field or what events you've specifically witnessed. I'm talking about helis flying everywhere in general. Quite obviously, I'm not talking about larger helis since Blade doesn't have any offerings anymore. But, their smaller helis sell like gangbusters and there's no denying that. They're going to make a killing when the new 270CFX is finally released. They already have the dominant 3D CP micro in the market with the 180CFX and they're going to crush the 250-300 class with the 270CFX.

Oh....you mean the people that buy a trainer heli ....then yes. Then get out of the hobby because they never lear to fly them the just learn to repair them. And then buy a quad.

These forums have all gotten so negative. I used to really enjoy it.
But it seems every conversation turns hostile when there is a minor difference of opinion. I'm going outside to fly.

Yeah, because the super light 6S 360mm 360CFX is a trainer heli. If that's a trainer heli, then so is the Gaui X3 and any other 360mm 6S heli. Is the OXY 3 a trainer heli? No? Then look at the 270CFX, also on on 6S.
