I am setting up my Logo 600 as a dedicated 550 machine. It has the Mod 1 gears and Ill be running the 11t pinion. The motors I have are very different so I wanted to hear some opinions from anyone running these motors or ESCs. The motors are a KDE 1175, Scorpion hk 4025-1100, hkiii 4025-1100 or a Hacker a50 v3 1100. The heli would be a monster with the Hacker but that motor is pretty hard on packs and ESCs in my other 550s. The light weight of the Logo might help enough to keep the amps/heat down. It pushes the packs and ESCs pretty hard in heaver models like the e5 and Trex 550 but the Logo 600 I am setting up weighs less than both of them. The Scorpions motors would be the safe option. I think either one would be fine. The KDE would be ok too but I am not sure how well it works with my ESC options besides the Edge.

For ESCs I have a Power Jive v13 120hv, YGE 120, YEP 120 or Castle Edge 120. I am going to run a Vbar on this heli and want to try the gov option. I have the most experience with the Castle 120 but no experience with the YGE/YEP 120s and little experience with the Jive. I'll most likely use the Jive in a larger heli so it will probably be one of the other 3. What are your thoughts on these ESCs? If I try the YEP or YGE, I would like to use the built in BEC. Will these ESCs be fine with 9452s and a BLS251? I fly mostly 3d so if that is going to be a possible issue I will use a seperate power supply. How is the YEP and YGE quality? Is the YEP just a knock off of the YGE? I notice many Logo 550s and the kit use the 90LV with the large capacitor. Are these a better option than the 120 and the 2 smaller caps? I don't know anything about these ESCs so any info helps?

YEP is a Chinese YGE clone. I would not risk it. Go with the YGE or Edge for ESC. Both can connect directly with the V-Bar for governor. I like the dual BEC outputs of the YGE. However, your Futaba servos are not that power hungry, so the Edge should be fine too.

Motors - I'd use the KDE 1175 if you want a high headspeed. Your max. governed headspeed will be around 2600RPM with the 106T main gear and 11T pinion.

I've used that Scorpion motor with 5mm shaft in a 500SE before. Make sure whatever motor you use has the 6mm shaft required by the Logo 600.

One of the reasons I went with a 600 this time instead of the 550 was because of the mod 1 gears with standard 6mm pinions. I also like the larger canopy for visibility. The gearing is slightly better in the 550 but I think since I am going to try running it in gov mode it should work fine and there are a ton more motor options with 6mm shafts.

Is the tail ratio the same as the logo 550? My old Logo 500 tail got a little crazy at high headspeeds so I am curious to see how this one does and what size blades I should run. My other 550s have 96 tail blades but I used to run 90s and 92s on my old Logo. I'll start off with Rail 96s since they work really well on my Trex 550 and e5. Looks like a lot of experimenting with different combos so any advice from you Logo experts is welcome

My 550sx uses the HK3 Scorpion with the mod 1, 11t setup. I have my banks setup for 1950, 2100, 2300. The tail gearing is the same for the 550 and 600.

I am copying GScotts idea He stretched his 550SX and put on a 600 canopy. Even when he ran 600mm blades his heli was a monster on 6s. With 550s I think it will be perfect.

I only have one bank and it is stuck on "broke"

Finally got around to installing everything in my Logo 600 and the numbers are great!! Final setup is YGE120LV, Scorpion 4025-1100, 9452s, bls251, Mini Vbar and Rail 556 Blades. Mod 1 gears with an 11t pinion.

The weight compared to my other 550s looks very good. The Logo is a few grams over 5lbs, my Synergy e5 is 6lbs 10oz and my Trex 550 is a few grams over 5lbs 12oz. All were weighed with no lipo and Rail 556/96 blades. Should be very interesting flying these 3 back to back, I can't wait to get the Vbar programmed and try it out!!
