This sounds like a nice idea. A screen that tells what the switches do. Like it.
Having the voice stuff works too but I hate the voice feature...especially when flying. I know this may seem unreasonable but voice commands makes it feel too kid toy like to me.

Plus a voice is after the fact. Cannot really reference it in a meaningful way.

Like during taxi. Flick a switch you thought was flaps and hear, "Gear, up" - Aww crap!

Well you would listen to the voice befor you fly just as a reminder of what switch does what ! But a screen with pics and switches is fine too !
The price of the radio just went up 40 bucks !! Lol

Honestly, for 95% of the hobby, a simple seven channel will do. But I don't /think/ that the OP has your barebones models in mind with this idea.

The OP has planks with many many functions. This is hardly the norm. So my guess is we're talking on a complex 18 channel radio. In which case, $40 is nada.

How about a Windows Program for Aircraft Radio Setup
Yeah Aaron, you are right... if you are flying most planes on 7 channels, everything is the same from plane to plane.

As it gets more complex, you need a cheat sheet. I was thinking that this could possibly be done with a firmwear update on some spektrum radios.... just give me a blank screen that I can store information onto. Maybe that could be a $0 change?? nothing is ever free.

OK so try this... you get a Windows software program that has all the radios settings selectable. You could do all the aircraft settings on a computer (including my screen of data) and then transfer to the SD card and then to the radio and ultimately the aircraft.

This seems to be the way forward for many controllers today. Maybe it is time for the radio guys to look at this.
