Just a thought
Depending on the drivetrain drag and how hard you are throttling down that could cause the tail to kick out. If I drop my warp from idle2 to norm causes the tail to kick out a bit. Try to throttle down more gradually or use more flight modes if possible.

This could be lots of things. It would be much easier to diagnose with a video of it happening.

It could be something simple like your throttle curve is dropping to low coming into land and therefore you are loosing tail speed and authority?

That gyro is really made for a analog servo.

I used that Gyro about 9 years ago on my Trex 450 HDE. It is the state of the art at that time until GY401 came in.

Back to the OP's question, maybe the belt tension needs adjustment and/or the gyro tape needs to be replaced.

You are right in that it has no digital servo output and probably only throws out 50-70Hz but a digital servo should still work right?

I had one on a Walkera about 9 years ago also with a Hitec HS81 servo and it was a vast improvement on the standard Walkera gyro that came with the heli! I learned my first bit of 3D with that gyro!

A digital servo will work with the GY240. But, not that well. That's why the GY401 came along with the digital switch.

What does your normal throttle curve look like?

Do you have full left/right tail pitch?

Are you as high as you can go with the gain?

Is there anything loose or tight in the tail pitch mechanics?
