Head Speed
What's A good head speed for 3d on a 450X, motor is a Viper 3500KV,
My ECS is a Talon 35, pinion 14T, main gear tooth I think is 140, mag pole 6

Normal 2525
Idle1 2550
Idle2 2550
I know 1&2 needs to be higher, but what head speed?

Thanks,
Charles

Hi, I run a slightly different setup, but it is happy and snappy at 3,500.

With or without gov ? According to Mr Mel's HS Calculator (http://heli.dacsa.net/calcv3/Default.aspx) it makes a few hundred difference.

FLYERCLD.... HS are lower than most heli's swinging 425mm manufacturer's recommended.

I was able to do piroflips and 8pt Tic Tocs @ 3200 HS on my 450X with 325mm FB blades on 3S, but you gotta finesse the controls. No stick banging or else the motor will talk back to you.

It depends which Blade 450? Usually between 3000 and 3500 for 3D. Consider dropping a pinion size for longer flight times as your gearing is quite steep at the moment even if you bumped upto 3000.60% of the time, it works every time!
