White dust !?
Good morning from Orlando. Mickey and Minnie say hello.

Newly built 550L with all stock parts. Probably have 20 flights (truth be told I'm staying close to the ground getting my sub conscience in order). So there are no 3D stunts, mainly scale flying.

I'm convinced I have a proper mesh with motor pinion and main gear....meaning lower edges are level with each other.

The dust started showing up after maybe 15 batteries, but appears to be getting more prevalent.

There are no teeth missing and everything seems to be smooth as butter on rotation.

Is the white dust normal? Small problem? Big problem?

Thanks in advance.

If the dust is up front, it is a pinion/drive gear lash issue. If it is in the rear by the tail rotor drive gears, it is just the gears wearing in. I've noticed this with every Align helis in my fleet.Gerry Cullan,

Thanks for your input. It's all in the back side. I have been making the assumption it was normal, but have been surprised it came after maybe 10 batteries have been run through. Other than the dust itself I'm not seeing or hearing anything out of the norm.

This is my first Align and I'm wondering why I waited so long.....love it.
