Has anyone seen anything like this?
I am into 3rd tank today and is just hovering and all of a sudden, there is a weird noise and the engine quits. I manage to auto it safely in one piece. Initially, I thought the connecting rod was broken as I am not able to crank the engine at all. Then upon close inspection, I find that the engine fan has disintegrated. How possible could that happen?

The good news is everything else looks ok. The bad news is I do not know where I can get a fan.

Rudy,

Dang

Sorry to see that. How about I send you my back-up fan? I need to find it first....Is that all you broke?

Edit: No, I've never seen that...on any model! For a machined piece of aluminium to do that, it'd have to have some kind of flaw in it. Frightening....#1, glad you're not hurt.

Edit2: Looks like it broke at the magnet recess. Possibly a fracture there, and with the force of the fan spinning, it parted ways. Still hard to imagine, but at least you weren't next to it when it let go....wow.
