I've been frequenting the vstabi forums with Google Translate, and every once in a while they'll say something in a post about their progress, but other than that, we have no idea if this is July 1st or July 31st.

We also have no idea about what specific limitations the unit will have if you're not using the VControl. They've been silent about how they plan on locking down the software, but they're convinced that they can find a balance of security and convenience.

I would be very surprised if they release in early July. For the US market, it would nice to time it with the 4th of July holiday sales in a bid to recapture all the customers they lost with their 3-4 month delay.

But who knows. They've made VControl their priority, and seem to expect that their customers are loyal enough to the brand to allow them to throw away the concept of solid deadlines without jeopardizing the reputation of the company.

As always, their desire is to get it out as soon as they possibly can, but not before they believe it is ready. That requirement and delays with sub-contractors are the main reasons they miss proposed timeline estimates. The issue in this case of needing to lock-down the hardware was arguably a misstep on the planning side, it shouldn't have come as a surprise that people would immediately try to clone the new most popular FBL system on the market. So I think they have to own this one and I know they don't like it any more than their customers do.

The basic principle holds. Regardless of what time frame they give, it will be released as soon as they believe it's ready. Generally speaking they don't do progress updates along the way.

You also want to give them some time to sell off existing inventory. No company wants to leave obsolete products on the shelves.

Sorry if that's a bad word for you?
All products go eventually. With the Neo, who would want an older vbar? I suppose if they offered it at a lower price point but I doubt that's the plan.

Hey...flying RC helis doesn't exactly seem to be the most healthful thing to do, but it's still one of my most cherished.

Do you think you will every be able to use your radio with anything else besides mikado gear? Nope never (gimbals, multicopters etc) . They will not release there protocol to a 3rd party, they too worried about being rip off. Nice micro market , its just hard to justify for me. Lets be honest once you setup your fbl control its rare that you need to keep tweaking. In my case 3 or 4 hours. Then i don't touch it for months. Its just a nice to have not a must. Anyways my neo is a very nice paper weight right now.

im not to concerned about that since i only fly helis and just starting to fly quads which i have a dx6 for im not into planes but i am thinking about it now that i can use the vcontrol with vplane also on it and use vbars there as well.

i know they are working on quads to work with vcontrol but im not to worried about that.

the vcontrol radio is the best radio i have used to date and i have had them all and the simplicity of being able to fly and tweak without romoving the canopy everytime or hooking up to a computer is a huge relief, you just set it fly and repeat as necessary.

on my Neos i didnt really need to do much at all of tweaking and very happy with them which i have just found 2 more with vlinks for my other helis.

Multicopter software is being developed as we speak now Also you can use the VControl with anything now. All you need is a main unit...

So why would you buy a NEO if you don't have, or plan to get, a V Control TX?

You just needed a paperweight?

Ok, hold on, I was under the impression that the NEO could be used with "other" txs. No?
I mean that is what this thread is about, right?
