Cline Regulator Question
I have an OS 91 SX-H C-Spec to which I had OMI add a Cline Regulator many moons ago.

It has been flawless in operation with the Cline installed. But nothing lasts forever. I suspect there is at least a diaphragm inside this little wonder that eventually would need to be replaced.

Is the Cline repairable, and if so, does anyone know where to source parts to do so?

Hey Dave,

Jim Cline passed away a few years ago. It was something of a personal loss for me as I talked with Jim quite a few times over the years. His website is no long up and running (BillRoom.com).

You should be able to go to any small engine repair facility and buy a Walbro rebuild kit. Take your PFCS with you so the technician can find a kit that will work for you.

Barring that, there may still be support out there for Jim's regulator. http://www.christiantraders.com.au/..._Regulator.html

If you get really stuck you might try adapting an Iron Bay unit. http://www.ironbaymodelcompany.com/...les/Page438.htm

Out of curiosity, how has your current unit failed?

I've run into that website in the past, when searching for additional information about the Cline - when the people who sold it went out of business.

Searching the web for info on the Cline led again to that site as well as pictures of one taken apart. Pretty simple inside. Along with those pictures were pictures of several Walbro carburetor repair kits. The diaphragm in those kits is a dead ringer for the one in the Cline.

Time to seek out a Walbro repair kit.

It hasn't failed yet...but it has been going strong for several years. Just looking to keep it alive into the future. I've read up on the Iron Bay unit and believe the Cline to be the better solution.

My C-Spec got fried last weekend when the glow plug became loose, allowing the motor to go lean. Took out the piston, ring, and cylinder liner. Pistons and rings can still be had, cylinders are a bit more difficult to find. The cylinder is salvageable. I found what is supposed to a new piston, ring, and cylinder on Ebay, should keep the C-Spec alive for a few more seasons.

I need to keep that regulator going as long as I can.

Let me know if you need parts. I have a few cline regulators in my parts bin that I no longer need. I don't have nitro now but I know what you mean.

My Cspec with these modified carb brought me enjoyable memories.

I ordered a couple of new diaphragms yesterday. Should keep me in business for a while yet to come.-----
