The reality of these types of engines, they are insanely customised. I could not say there is no Fordisems in that motor. When shops build crazy engines, they pull from everyone.
When money don't matter?!

Quite a few SBC heads have the symmetrical spaced ports similar to SBF, etc. Ever see a SBC SB-2 NASCAR engine? The pushrod locations on the standard SBC head layout severely restricts port size, combustion chamber layout and valve location so by moving the ports this can be improved considerably.

A lot of SBC heads that have the symmetrical spaced ports are a copy of the Ford Cleveland 4V head with was one of the best for HI performance applications for years, GM never made as good of a head for SBs.

P.S. sorry for the spelling or the grammar I am dyslexic!

Very true about the Cleveland heads but I always thought that Ford probably looked over the BBC heads pretty closely when they were designing them!

So its all in who copy who first, I dont know, but if you look under those valve covers they sure don't look like BBC.

This is interesting !

When comparing a Ford Cleveland head to a BBC head, I mostly refer to the canted valve arrangemant that Chevy pioneered in 1963. Back then they called these a semi-hemi and many 2 valve performance heads follow this basic design today.

I saw that to on Youtube, I thinks it pretty cool. It goes to show how badly the Big Chief is determination to destroy Mr. Kye Kelly. Its the old adage fighting fire with "SO MUCH MORE FREAKING AWESOME" fire. I guess in some cases money can buy happiness, if its in the form of 2000+ horse powered "street"race cars.

I did a couple of times... just didnt have the same flair as the 405 boys...

If Chief wants to beat Kelly...he needs to change the frame/body to something much more aerodynamic, and start replacing frame components to lighter materials...

The Crow did not have the aero, this mod is better, but not much...
he needs to scale the whole thing down to a model and do a tank/fluid flow test at a local university to find out where to make changes...

when your at this level of competition, everything counts...at high speed weight, aerodynamics play a big role when you start loosing by a car length.

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...
