E700 Speed up Gear 4.71 bad tail vib and buzz
anyone else have a bad tail vib and buzz after putting on the speed up gear ? with zeal 110mm carbon blades so tried kbdd 105 plastic and not as bad but still there .its worst when unloading the head when doing side ways tic toc's.just went through the tail and didn't find anything out of place .never had the problem with stock tail gearing just wont hold well at all on stock gears with 105mm blades .maybe 115mm with stock is the answer but sure has way lower rpm them the 4.71 gearing. any thoughts?

Mine runs really good but I am running well balanced Rotor Tech 105s and I do not run a very high head speed which is why I did the speed up.Logo 550SX / Logo 600 / Specter 700

I'd suggest trying Rotortech tail blades. I read in another thread that KBDD's larger tail blades on average vibrate more than quality CF tails so it is interesting that the Zeals vibrated more than the KBDDs.~Drew

It's a good investment to buy a jeweler's scale for about $20. Then you can weigh all parts:
  • tail grips
  • bolts
  • nuts
  • washers
  • tail blades (a bit of tape is all you need)
If it has a torque tube, take off the boom and verify your two ball bearings are off centered and not evenly spaced out (see the manual).

In addition, if there was even the slightest tip-over or "hard landing," install a new tail shaft AND hub. Being anal with all those steps will get you a smooth running machine. Else compromise leads to part failures, and even death.
