It's a ghost town around here... Not one comment. Well, what pitch did you set initially? Have you made adjustments? Did you try +13 / -13?

I believe I set it at 12/12. I've test hovered in the courtyard.
Motor seemed a little hot to me. Going to actually fly it and check it then. I can say this..... VERY smooth. That little whippy tail fin doesn't move a hair...

I'm running 12.5 both ways. the max and min marks on the head are accurate.Maybe you'd better lie down, eh? Why don't you just lie down until rigor mortis sets in?

I set mine up around 12 or 12.5. I think it could handle a little more but it flies pretty good at 12-12.5.Nathaniel Rice

stock pinion? I believe that with the quantum motor they suggest running a 23 tooth pinion. I have exactly the same setup and I did go with the 23 tooth pinion. My head speeds are 2850, 2950 and 3050.

stocker is 21 tooth. Was thinking about jumping to a 22 tooth. I think a 23 tooth would scare the bejeebers out of me...

its all about getting the motor into its efficency range. you can still run the same head speeds, I run the 23 tooth pinion with the above head speeds. I run 12 degrees of pitch both ways, Was 95 last weekend with rediclious humidity here and I could touch it after 6 minutes of light 3D. I guess it could be the rest of your settings in the Talon. Are you using the Talon governor? What are your head speeds?

no, I wasn't using governor, but I think I'll give that a try.
I have to wait a couple days until 7 of my helis make it back from my vacation...
I bought a 22 tooth a while ago.... haven't tried it yet. But I realize that I'll probably need to go to a 23 if I go governor.
