and this is why we never do over speeds with cheap blades
so this morning i was flying,, got my 15th flight of the day in ,and on that last pack , i went realllllllly high up and dove down for an overspeed,
well at the bottom (15 ft from me ) i let that speed out,,, and this is the aftermath,,,,,
took out my charger case , lipos , blades , boom ( lol) and i dont even know yet, i just put her on the table and made a stiff drink,,
ill be down for a little bit due to my 8 month old and money being tight, almost took out my avalanche and me last time i do that so close and with cheap blades,,
but thats ok , i got the sim to pass the time,,, enjoy

going pro , one crash at a time

That's terrible!

Heli crash photos always look worse than they actually are. Did you manage to hit TH at all or did the blades just explode into carnage?

. Did you manage to hit TH at all,

, yep about the same time i heard the "crack" so it did not hit the ground powered on,, this thing was like a bomb was in it, and as soon as i gave it full neg ( i was going inverted) the "crack " happend.. i hit TH .. the heli went right by me, i ducked , then i heard the smash ,bang ( kinda like the old batman tv show ) and that must of been the heli hitting my charger case. ( or what was left of it)

What is the cable running from the tail to main gear area?

,, thats the tail pushrod lol

all in all ,, i added up about $420 , including , blades (main and tail) shafts, other parts,, canopy , lipos ,

I cannot think of a more pointless maneuver than the McDoogle. It rates right up there with inverted hover blade scrapes.

I watched stunt motocross and at no point do they downshift into first gear at 50MPH to over speed the engine to get a rise out of the crowd. And yet it was an amazing show without such a stunt.

Wow those cheap blades just cost you a heli kit ;( I learned very early on not to use cheap (wood) blades when in my first stable hover about three mins in n the grips let go holy carnage luckily Irwin let me fix for free last time I ever used cheap blades.
Was there a safety wire. ?? What brand I tend to only fly safe blades n reinforced weights to protect me n those around me. As far as I know radix n sab are I fly. Maybe we should start a thread to find out who uses safety wires for the weights. Scary what took out ur case ?? Is that ur motor ??

*they were CF not wood,, they were amains eco blades ,, there no longer for sale i see , so they stopped making them?

** yes, there was a safety wire.

""Wow those cheap blades just cost you a heli kit "" ;

*** they really didnt,, and i should have seen it commming,
i logged 45 hard flights with these blades and two flights prior , my blades wouldnt track right, they seemed to have almost (soften up) where near the ends of the blades , they started to "flex"
guess i shoulda stopped once the blades didnt track well anymore?
oh well , its my blade 600,, not like it was a gobbler or sum "one of a kind" off brand .. shes my beater ,, and abuse her i did,,
and it seems as tho this time , she hit back

""I cannot think of a more pointless maneuver than the McDoogle..""

i can ,, how bout a mcdoogle with flexible blades? lol

*but i couldnt agree more... yea it sounds cool... kinda looks cool... but it tweeks the heli out to no point,,,
i think for now on , ill just save them for the sim , or every now and again,
but it really is pushing your luck each time you do one ,, i cant see how the ball links dont pop off , because you can just "feel" the whip crack and the heli beg for mercy ,,,,

Glad you weren't hurt or even worse hurt someone else watching.
I don't understand why guys like to do this. I see some of the flying today at fun flys and see guys beating the living $hit out of the bird like he hates it and wants it to break. Then the moment everyone in the audience is waiting for ,,,it breaks and then everyone cheers. I don't get it.
Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

Karma? maybe something to consider

no no karma, im pretty sure the heli was trying to tell me many flights before this one,,
karma would have been the first flight of the day,
altho i dont know why id have any bad karma,, its not like i made up things and was dishonest,, infact the heli gods were tryin to tell me to stop,
id consider it a good crash ,, my truck didnt get hit, i didnt get hit, and i smashed my boat of a heli,( wanted a new kit ) bad karma? ha , id say i had good luck and maybe i should call out more people in there bs?
or maybe we should leave the "karma" thing back with the unicorns and mermaids? how bout it?, , but thats another topic eh
