/New Stainless Furion 450 head axles for sale
We are going to run head axles for the Furion 450 IF their is enough interest. Estimated cost will be around $14.99 for 2 with socket head screws and free USA shipping. They will made from Stainless steel and threaded ends will be 4-40 and include new screws. The washer will not be needed since the cap screw heads are wider than factory screw. They will be ran at the end of July IF enough interest is their. Reply to this post or PM us with approximate quantity needed.

What is wrong with SS? They most certainly will not be rusted in the bag when you get them........Stainless is a major upgrade to the axle that came with the machine.

Since when is it weaker than the grade of steel used for the factory parts?

The best stainless steel maxes out at a yield strength of 2500MPa. Carbon steel maxes out at a yield strength of 3340MPa. I don't know what MA used or how it was heat treated but I would assume that it is considerable stronger than the annealed 303 or 304 stainless steel (~250MPa MAX Yield) that your machine shop is probably planning to use. Switching to 4-40 screws only gets you about 0.005" of extra wall thickness but can you source 4-40 screws that equal a DIN 12.9 M3 in strength?

I know people who have a tensile test stand who I could probably get to test one of my feathering shafts but it appears that I only have maybe 3 left.

Have you contacted the new Minature Aircraft owners to see if they're planning to support the Furion 450? I haven't simply because I haven't even flown mine in years.

I don't see any rust on this NIP feathering shaft... I wonder how many years it has been in there...

I guess you got lucky with the rust. Got some from ron's a few years ago and was not happy. They said to scotch brite them clean, not Ron's fault he was only passing along what Heliproz sent them.

Yes, please pass along the test results. The ones we have came in at 22 Rc......... That low was not even worth doing a b scale test to get an accurate hardness.
