Opinions please
I'm debating on trimming my mostro canopy. I just don't like those ears hanging off the back. Makes it look like a stork or something. Am I crazy? It is a 100 canopy so kinda risky

at least you have a choice on weather or not to mod your cano,,
my blade 550, and 600x all had to be hacked and molded just to fit, and so the motor wouldnt rub,,,
going pro , one crash at a time

I have an idea and I think it's going to look sweet. I talked to the people at canomod and he's gonna draw up some designs. The mostro is a beautiful bird. I hate to cover it all up. I'll post up some pictures later with some designs and see what you guys thinkRobert

Photoshop it first to see how it will look virtually instead of hacking up a expensive canopy.

My JR Forza 700 was a PITA to install the canopy. The canopy was similar to the Mostro and very narrow that the ESC battery wires need to be ran a specific way, battery mounted all the way to back (giving very little option for CG) and would also rub the motor top if not put in carefully. They used 4 mount post with Pins to secure it. Was a chore to mount the canopy.

So I chop the top .....almost like putting a sunroof on! Now it's 80% easier to install. Spread them cheeks wide with no concerns of top corners cracking. Once I use quick mount style canopy mount, it would be a breeze. Doesn't rub the motor at all and I could do 130 mph speed passes with no issues (didn't even use the pins on the stock mounts).

I would suggest getting some pin strip tapes to make outlines as cutting guides and use a roto-zip (dremel) diagonal cutting drill bit. Slow speed at a steady pace. Than use an emery 80 grit nail file to contour the edges you have just cut. Will give you clean lines.

I do this to my Goblins aswell ... I know the Mostro canopy is pricey but just take your time and you should be OK. First decide if you are OK with the way it looks. I run HC FBL Controllers ... Wires come in from top, so I also trim that rear portion to give room for wires. I don't mind the way it looks. I'm a tinker-er and have no problem tweaking things to make it easier to install. I even painted my Scorpion HK4530-540kv candy red!!!

Hey thanks for the reply's. I was also thinking about the pin stripe tape and photo shop. What did you guys use to actually cut the canopy? I was thinking a dremel or a sharp razor bladeRobert
