I agree, the sounds from modelsounds are great. I have three of them. Just email David and let him know what sounds you want installed on the micro sd card.

The module has an amplifier. If you have the room in your scaler, get 2 4 inch speakers with the module, which are hooked up in series. The four inchers sound better than the two inchers.

You can control the two channels on the sound module from one momentary switch on your tx. The switch I use is the RtrimD switch on my DX 18. A flick of the switch up triggers the turbine start up without moving the throttle stick. Moving the throttle stick up will increase the turbine spool up. A flick of the momentary switch down, triggers the door machine gun sound on my Jayhawk.

Once you have their sound module you can download sound files (free or small$) from sites like soundogs, etc.

You can also do recording on the free software Audacity to do cockpit chatter, etc. I have done this on a OH-6A project it worked great, multiple voices, cockpit sounds, etc.

It is as flexible as you want to use it. Basically you can add any MP3 as additional sounds in addition to the Engine and Weapons sounds. you could even have "Margaritville" playing in the background.

If you need help, let me know.

LOL, Margaritaville might be in order somewhere! For the Huey I thinks some clips from Apocalypse Now are what I'm shooting for.
I did send a note to the gent at model sound and he did not have any cockpit chatter for a Huey.
Soooo, I'm assuming I can add my own files to the sd card and then assign to a couple different switches on the Tx? My question would then be what file type do I need to record those as?
Thanks

Yes, and yes. MP3 or Windows media as I recall.

David only has Engine and Weapon sounds...I have done all my own cockpit chatter.

Google or Bing "cockpit chatter soundfiles"

Yes, Rckfish is a master when it comes to the cockpit chatter sound as he has done an amazing job on my 1/4 OH-6A using the audacity software. I love all the sounds recorded on my OH-6A and enjoy it often when I spend lots of times at night in my man cave detailings my 1/6 platoon chasing the VCs down the jungle...I will definitely add the sound system again on my future to be built 1/6 Nam Huey.
