Daily flight record
So today I flew my Logo 16 times, beating my previous record. Took about five hours.

Granted they were E flights of only 5:20 so it works out to 85 minutes of total flight time. But I'm still stoked over breaking my personal daily flight record.

Charging at 2C it was giving me ready to fly batteries in 18 minutes like clockwork. I calculated that it'd be like 11 minutes if I could crank it up to 3C+, but I really couldn't see why. It was tough to keep up with the flying as is. Fast charging rocks!

So who's got me beat out there for most flying in a day?

good job.. i charge 2 6s @ 30amp ,, and that takes about 14 min to charge.. so i can get about 8 flights in before i get tired of waiting around for lipos to charge.. i need another 2 lipos to make a 12s pack so i can just fly , fly , fly charge life pack,, fly fly fly
weather you get 1 flight in or 30 ,, at the end of the day, its always a good day when your birds comming home in one peace
going pro , one crash at a time

I think the key is in having three packs. One is charging. One is flying in the heli. And one is cooling off after a flight. When I do this max flight stuff, I literally unplug a finished battery from the charger, and immediately begin charging a cool one. The charger is on full time duty.

I timed my routine and even though the flight is only 5:20, it takes me nearly 10 minutes to install the battery, turn on the radio, hook up the battery, ensure proper initialization of the RX/FBL/ESC, install canopy, walk heli to flightline, fly, walk it back, and remove the canopy. All the while, a battery is charging. So if I were to shorten my charge cycle to 10 minutes I'd literally be nonstop. The only way I could be faster than 10 minutes per flight would be to hire someone to man the charger and walk batteries out to me at the flightline. Might be able to get it down to 8 minutes. LOL.

Today, using an 18 minute charge was almost perfect. Enough time between flights to rest, pee, drink a soda, chat, pet the dog, etc. My batteries, charger, and power supply will go faster, but I can't imagine the need. I might go to 20 amps which would be 2.3C and about 15 minutes, but that's it.

Anyway, if you are waiting on batteries with a 14 minute charger, you need more sets. Because that would be only 4 minutes rest between flights, too fast for me. I recommend three so that you aren't charging a hot battery.

I don't do it as often as I used to but I have flown 15 tanks on my 700N in a 4 hour span before. Roughly 7 minute flights.

Not me....6 is enough for me....

Were you practicing orientations and such, or just tearing up the sky....or both?

Dykes - Nice! That's a 105 minutes of flying! Yeah you got me beat. That would wear me out! It really takes a nitro if that's the density of flying you want to do. The only way to beat that would be a gasser with a generator!

EE - I've got all my orientations down. Been doing this 11 years. Working on CW rotation piroflips, piroflip reversals, and CCW piroflips flipping toward me. It's like orientation work, in a way, in that it's totally new and gains are slow. There's always something new!

You should consider asking for a sponsorship.

Seriously.

A whole 'nother subject. Never happen. A sponsor has responsibilities that far exceed what I'd want to give.

I like to tell it like it is, and fly when and where and what I want.

And I can do that now.

But not as a sponsor. A sponsor has to promote a product, in spite of itself sometimes, is often restricted to that product, has to travel to fun flies to promote the product, and has to PR and customer service with folks and answer all sorts of questions and help folks with their models, yadayadathisisworkandnotahobbyanymore, all for a discount on a hobby I can already easily afford.

Hmmmmm. Nah.
