Howday all! I need help.

I have a Trex 700 Nitro Pro Flybarless. It has an OS 91HZ. I have had nonstop problems in starting this heli for some time now. When I put my starter on it, it will just spin...the engine will not crank...no movement of the motor...just a high speed spin because I can't get the oneway to engage. So this last weekend, i took the clutch and one way out, cleaned it, cleaned the bearings real well on the bearing and re-lubed it. Tried it today and it take forever before it grabs. My friend would even push down hard on the heli - to the point of spreading the landing gear- to see if that helped to grab. It might have...not too sure.

What am I missing? What is happening? Why is the one way not engaging so that I can start the engine?

I should mention, the second the one-way engages - the engine will start - the trick is getting it to engage.

Please help.

Unless I am missing something, the starter shaft one way bearing in the clutch is shot - period. If it is shot, then cleaning / relube is a waste of time, effort and oil.

Replace the clutch and it will come with a new starter shaft OWB.

While the engine is out:
Look at the clutch liner in the clutch bell - it may be time to replace the liner. Or, buy a new clutch bell and it will come with a liner.

I would also replace the starter shaft. The end of the shaft that engages the start shaft OWB may be worn.

If you have to replace the liner in the clutch bell, they rebuild the clutch bell block.

Or, buy the G-Force adjustable motor mount

700 starting problems
Sounds to me like the hex adapter is spinning on starter shaft. The set scews lost there bite. Been there done that more than once! I have a Tareq YS 91 that was eating them alot. I made the divits deeper on starter shaft and drilled an tapped a 3rd set screw problem solved. As far as clutch liner and oneway i would say there ok as long as your clutch stack is aligned proper they last long time for ya!

All correct
The giveaway is if the hex adaptor is hot and I mean hot after you have had this issue it's most likely its the hex spinning on the shaft.
You can get ware on the hex adaptor or on your starter shaft, with a similar result

Spinning starter cup on the shaft.....check that first ....common problem since they changed to indent on the shaft instead of the beveled shaft on the v1 .....a much better design. Grind a flat spot on the shaft so when the grub screw is tight it cant spin unlike the indents.
