Man " please " put in a good word for TExas tonight along with OK :
Their in tough shape with the Flood's / Loss of life and un told property damage and Home less in sorrow.
It's Not Good at all - Church Families are Rallying across the South and setting up this moment - going in for help. It rough in some area's.
My wife and I had decided to vacation in Kauai (wettest place on earth). While we were gone, the motor cycle gangs decided to have a good time at the "breastaraunt" in Waco. That is always lousy news to hear.

We come back and the rain is still here. I have lived most of my life here in central Texas and have never seen this much rain.

We are ready for a little dryness.

It's not that hard for this area to be in the upper nineties at this time of the year...and when the rains stop, we could flip to 100 overnight.

I can only image the mosquito problem we may face.

We have the chikungunya virus and the West Nile virus.

Anybody coming to this area should carry plenty of insect repellent.

So the mayor gave the rioters space to destroy because it "was only property" and now she wants us to pay for it?!?!
She sounds like a Ray Nagin political school dropout.

Just a sample of what they could be facing : Those working in it trying too salvage their homes. In 100 degree heat +

No Electricity : No Refrigeration - Basement's or Garages with Freezer's full of rotting meat - dead live stock ect and un educated running around bare foot - minor hand cutt's ect. in mud unknowing.

It can go south very fast -

P.S. RAY NAGIN : of the 9th Ward is in a Federal Penitentiary for Corruption after Katrina !

Medina Lake went from ~11% full capacity....to 49% in one week...

3 mos. ago..it was at only 3%....amazing.

And why...when all the popular lake levels are so far down, people can't go boating....don't the officials send "crews" to cut off all the "underwater" tree stumps...flush with the lake bottoms?

If any "dredging" is in order, it's much easier when there's no water.

You bet...been a while when this kind of rain fell.

The events in Wimberely(~near Austin Tx) were tragic...

What's even more tragic, is that homes are allowed to be built down to ~ the average waterline....many are on re-barred "piles".

And when such a continuous rainstorms occur, all these "peaceful" streams become raging rivers in < 1 hr.....because the geography is such that all the streams feed each other.

They've shown the pics of the site of the house that floated down the river....had re-barred piles, 5 ply, and the force of the "debri" under water pressure just wiped the house off these piles...ripped the re-bar off.

Tragic in it's extreme, yes, but the drought is done . . . stick a fork in it! All the lakes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area went from 10 to 15 feet low to 10+ over! Even lake Travis in Austin, which was at close to 58 feet low at it's worst is up to just 18 feet low - a rise of over 30 feet in just a few weeks! (And still rising . . .) The collateral damage is bad, but the benefits moving forward are huge!

Coming from the Great Lakes, where a 1/2" change was massive, this no doubt is also unreal to most who don't live here . . . A 10 foot seasonal change in a Texas lake is not atypical, and most of the dams are designed to handle this much water . . . and other than flash floods during heavy rainfall, and the areas immediately around the lakes, we really don't have much underwater, despite all the rain. Oh, and it's now been determined to be the wettest May in recorded history, and second wettest year so far, and close to becoming the first at that as well!

This administration is already working on the NEW Tax Narrative for California,
The EPA say's it was Global Warming which causes terrorism
I'm waiting for California to cry racism because Texas is stealing all of their rain....
and ISSIL or DasH is NOT Islam so they must drive Chevy Volt's / Sell Solindrea to CHINA for .50 on the dollar and they must all travel to Antarctica for a Wine and Cheese party - to get stuck.

More Global Warming proof ! The Rain was meant for the Middle East !

Then it got so cold they decided to RIOT in Baltimore because Global warming / it was Racist and needed the heat !

Then all the media from Latin America ran across the border and said we where racist because we did not speak Ebonic's and they don't either.

They said it was Rasist because they came to steal all the cheese ! and get on Welfare ! FREE !

No, but tomorrow you might think that you'd spent today in Mexico drinking the water!

Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!

lake Travis in Austin
Beautiful lake.

Further south lakes are man made...Canyon Lake...and Medina Lake.

Medina's primary use is for agricultural irrigation....so it was "milked dry".

How's "Pistol Pete's" doing?

Saw that lakeside restaurant on the news this evening...it's still open.
