Kinda makes sense in the world of high level government thinkers.

Consider this:

Certain types of firearms must be registered in the US such as automatic machine guns because of the National Firearms Act of 1934.

The Supreme Court ruled a convicted felon can not be punished for failing to register guns that are covered by this law.

The logic used: it's illegal for a felon to own such firearms.

Now back to congress. You can't convict these guys in congress for insider trading because insider trading is illegal.

Now back to congress
Even though, a while back...when it "came to light" that they were "immune" from their personal insider trading...these cockroaches quickly(within days) passed a law that made it illegal for them to act on their inside knowledge(their spouses and children were excluded from this legislation...meaning they could inside trade with impunity based on any knowledge they passed on to their families).

And now, this?

People go to prison(not jail) for this stuff.

I'm reading a book titled "Throw Them All Out" written by the guy that just put out Clinton Cash.
This book is all about just this... how guys that got elected with very little personal wealth, became multi-millionaires due to their insider training.
It's a good read, but just a tad infuriating...
We'd all be enjoying federal hospitality for a double digit stint if we did the same.
