Considering Logo 480, recommended?
Hi All,
I am flying Align Trex 500 for a while (have other nitros as well), and want to get a new heli which is a little bigger, but not much.
For a long time I wanted to try a Logo, and saw this 480 XXtreme which seems like a great heli.
Do you recommend on getting this kit? I want to buy the super combo.

My only concern is that I don't see this forum alive. Is someone still fly this heli? any future for it?

I would appreciate recommendations, pictures of your Logo 480 and tips.

Thanks,
Gil

hi i would consider moving up to the logo 500 which swing 530-580 blades. i swing 550s on mine . I love it, flies like its on rails. the best power to weight + the new frame is to be released soon i have a kde 1100kv and fly at 1900 2100 and 2250 for iu2. the best part of mikado logo are they fly as per the directions and they parts are great quality and work till you crash them i had a 130 flights on mine till i smoke my castle hv85 pulling 130 amps through it they crash very well and seem to be the heli every other heli strives to fly like i love the sound the gear trains make s kinda sounds like a turbine right now i have the older logo 5003d frame with a flybarr head atm. swing sab 550s on the m1 gear train kde motor wit ha cc ic2 2 hv 120 pluse 45c 4100-4500-5000 get 5:30 -6:30 flight with mild aero flying. once you go logo you ll have a hard time switching brands.

mainly why the forum is quiet. the nurmenburg show was last month or two ago and the new items from mikado were shown and are coming with release dates. such as the new fbl NEO. Vplane software is due out soon as well as the new 550 frame and the new 700 coming toward spring of next year. so our news already came, now we are all out enjoying the spring flying season

Thanks for the reply!
I really wish a smaller heli than 550 and larger than my trex 500.. so I thought it would be a good choice. for a bigger size, I have my nitros that I really love (Hirobo SDX 50, Align Trex700n, Outrage Velocity 50).

what are the pros/cons for the 480 ?
I have 8 new Gens Ace 6S 3300mah 60C that I would like to use on the 480.
My flying style is mostly precised aerobatic, so I'll probably get good flight times with these packs.

ok i just assumed you were moving up to bigger with that said the 480 would fit in well no cons just smalller then my 5003d its a great heli some kits had trouble with getting tail smooth but once the tail grip ball flashing is cleaned it works very well. your packs would work. i dont think you could ever be disappointed with a logo Trex600n,Trex500,MR25,MikadoLoGo5003d/KDE,Goblin 380XNova,CastleCreations,Ys,JR XG8,Tags Mini XBus Dmss//FAA# FA3NYC9TAP

on the plastic tail blade grips the control ball is made of reinforced plastic and molded so there is a flashing seam which should be filed away til the link and ball are near friction-less or has no resistance which would make the tail wag or over work the servo. the tail need to move freely as in all helis just one thing i can remember others saying on the 480 other then that you will be great. bet it becomes you favorite very fast Trex600n,Trex500,MR25,MikadoLoGo5003d/KDE,Goblin 380XNova,CastleCreations,Ys,JR XG8,Tags Mini XBus Dmss//FAA# FA3NYC9TAP

thank you.
I heard that many people were upgrading the tail servo to Futaba BLS-251 in order to solve the slow tail wag on hover issue.
Should I order it too, or just try the savox first? any point?

I think you will really like the 480, I have been flying it since last June, I did clean up the flashing on the ball link and polish the tail shaft to get rid of the minor tail wag. Also make sure your tail box is squared up I'm using the Savox tail servo and it does just fine. I also fly the Logo 500SE & 600SX. Let us know how you like it when you get it in the air

The Logo is lighter and has a super low parts count. I always say that it is the biggest flying small helicopter around Team MikadoUSA 480XXTreme, 550SX, 600SX, 700XXTreme, 800XXTreme!!

I have a logo 480 xxtreme. Here is my experience. Keep in mind I am a beginner.

- On its maiden spool up and take off, I flew with out a canopy expecting that it would need to be tuned here and there. When I took off, I was surprised, it flew perfect the first time. I almost lost it because instead of landing and putting on the canopy, I decided to fly it around as is.

- I have trashed it properly a few times. After repairing it, it flies as good, smooth and vibration free as they day on its maiden flight.

- For me, the 480 is easier to fly than a 90 nitro. I did my first inverted pancakes both nose in and out, inverted backwards circles, inverted figure 8s on the 480. This is because it flies so smooth, and its so locked in. I just couldn't progress as easily on a 90 sized nitro.

- This thing is gods gift to a beginner that wants to progress, its easier to fly in real life than a paddled heli on a flight sim.
