Still some good flying! I'm always trying to gauge orientation tricks myself. I can't remember when the last time was that I lost total orientation, but every close call I've had was because I simply didn't have the skill sets to know what stick movements I need to get the heli to go where I want it to.

Either way, you'll be back in the air in no time.

Also, what camera were you using? I'd like to rig something myself to record flights

That's where the micro helis shine, I hated working on them but they taught me orientation and a lot more. I've gotten away from the micros but man do they help especially when I haven't flown for awhile and rusty.

I don't know how you did that, I've been flying this stuff since 1978 and have never lost orientation. (If you believe that, give me a call about some swamp land I have for sale. Flying into the sun can also bee a great teacher.

Speaking of loosing orientation, I remember flying a plank at the field a long time ago when a newbee standing next to me asked me about a maneuver I just did. Being the nice guy that I am, I said let me show you how it is done. I had just passed over the field at about 20-30ft. high and needed to turn back around. Well since I am the expert (ex=has been, spurt = drip under pressure)I decided that a split S was in order. I pulled back on the stick and very quickly remembered that I was flying upside down. ALMOST had enough height to make the turn but hit the ground fast and flat, the engine traveled about fifty feet further than the plane. I never did show him any other maneuvers and I don't think he ever asked me again.

Thanks, I have used it a long time as I taught auto technology for 30 years. I refused to let my students call me an expert. I picked it up from a trainer back when I worked for Mazda.

sorry to see that WC
seems you spent too much time inverted and got disorientated when flipped up the right way..

I found the same when I was learning inverted, id forget the inputs for the right way up, so much so I made a decision as to which style I would do.. F3C and scale won..

The key I suppose is to practice and practice and sim time.. but I know you know that..

Keep going

Did you run out of battery power on the 450? Looks like you were doing fine then it looks like you either hit TH or the heli lost power.

yep the light poles caused me to get to close

i need more space so i can better fine tune my collective management

guess i had the right idea just need more space if im going to try and fly like im on my sim.

or i should have slowed down a little i need more flight time i fly once a week

going to buy a car tomorrow then ill be able to get my ama and go to the field .

once i get to the field i hope i can find someone there who can help me with a routine id like someone in my ear to tell me what maneuvers to do would be nice .

ill get better i love this hobby and ill never quit
