I sent them payment for a custom turbine heli canopy months ago. Been delaying me ever since with excuses and now no PM responses. What is the deal?

I saw in a post somewhere here in RR that he was not taking anymore orders until around mid April. He said he had too many orders. Since then no more news. Even their advertisement here on RR is gone.

I know he is busy, Oat replied to my last message saying one more week over a month ago. My order was in last September or October, it's bad business not even replying to a paid customers messages. I'm going to contact Paypal I guess and see what they can do. I know it's been way to long. What else can you do.

Dyecocker, if he doesn't respond the only thing left to do is contact Paypal and see what they are willing to do.

Sick Canopy are good guys. The quality of their paint schemes is surpassed only by their sister company, Insane Canopy.

I talked to them two months ago. They're SWAMPED. I suspect this is why they pulled their Ad; they couldn't handle more orders. Their runryder based website is still active.

I am sure they'll make it right.

I think you will be OK. Patience IS required when dealing with either Sick or Insane. I have bought from them both. I once waited nearly 6 months for a canopy from them.

Perhaps this is an indication that there is a better market for quality custom canopies again. I sure miss HeliFX and Arizona Heli. Maybe someone will jump back in. My guess is Sick is going through some backlog issues like others have run into in the past. I think they'll come through for you.

waited nearly 6 months for a canopy from them
after 6 days 240 bucks i would have freaked out.

if i was told 30 days for my item 45 days is the most i would give
after 45 days you cannot file a claim with paypal

Time really was not the issue. This is a full custom canopy with a turbine airbrushed on the bottom so I expected a wait. Its just they kept promising it would be done then not deliver. Then communication stopped so I was a bit angry.

What do you know today I finally got a PM back with another promise. We will see

Boy, reading this thread it's easy to see that the instant gratification disease is just getting worse. My custom canopies always took months to get done and I never worried about it. They showed up when they showed up and they were awesome. If you want quick, go buy a piece of crap. If you want QUALITY and CUSTOM, expect to pay for it and learn some patience. This last comment is not directed at the OP, just a general statement about ordering custom work.

MartyH, I think the issue was lack of communication.

Of course custom work is going to take some time, but it's not acceptable for a business to simply ignore emails from their customers asking for an update.

Small Business is One Tough Racket.
We waited 11 months for an ARF one time. The advert said 3weeks. Jerk did not even order them from China.

Owner of that business was upset at us because we complained. Bottom line, when you order something, you should be given a delivery time frame. If it is not acceptable, then you have a right to rescind the order. It's all about communication. If there is a delay, the business should give you the new information without you having to beg.

How many businesses go bust? It is not easy dealing with individual customers.

I just finally got a product that I waited 9 months for and canceled. I really thought that they were going bust. No, the development of a new product took a lot longer than they expected. They solicited orders before they were ready. Timing a product release is not easy in any business. Once it was finally shipping and first round of customers were filled, I ordered again. Total time 18 months. Not happy about that.

Apparently, this guy painting canopies is very good and in demand. He will not stay that way by ignoring paid customers.

Nope, I had other stock canos. It was a pleasant surprise when they showed up.

I have ordered many canopies from tHem and other than the wait I have been very satisfied. They have been upfront about lead times at the ordering stage.
