MA X-Cell Fury Tempest 3D / setup / Tail "problems"
Hi,

The modell equipment:

Gear Ration 8:18T
Futaba S9255 (x4)
Futaba GY611 w/S9256
Futaba Gv-1
Futaba R617FS
YS91ST w/Hattori muffer
SAB Carbon main blade
Bronto 4,8V 3300mAh

Have the "problem" at the tail "wag"/"dance" a lot when try hover the modell.

Gyro setup is:

GDIR: REV
G:1A 40%
ACGA 120%
DIIB 0%
DIDB 0%
Trk +0%
CMT
F3C
AVC 100%
LmtA 89%

14Mz Gyro menu-> AVCS 30% , NOR 40%

Have try many difference % in both unit GY611 / 14Mz here!

Some "problems" with gain % or some tail`s part? Tail bearing?

(I have not build this model, got second-hand, only connect up new Rx)

Looking for helpful tip/advice here..

It sounds like your 611 has a higher gain than what's on the radio. I was taught of a way to get the 601/611 to have the same gain as the radio but forgot since I haven't dealt with those gyros in a long time. What kind of servo horn/ how big do you have on the 9256? Where is the ball located? Your limit A seems low, what is your limit B?

Which servo horn are you using and what hole are you you in.

I fought this on an Aurora And the fix was to move the ball in on the servo horn.

Use the Futaba servo horn , the big one some have 19,5 from the center line.

The servo is cut to "half"for to get good space!

Photo of it : http://www.hobbystores.co.uk/defaul...itemid=P-SO1244

Here can you see from the same type model , how tail setup is are :

http://pegasusheliusa.com/x-cell-fury-90-bind--fly.html

Ball are in the 19,5 circle line and all links is 90grade.

Here can see how to make the ball hole with Servo Alignment Guide, page 8 (blue color) :

http://www.alshobbysite.com/rchelibase/xcell/200302.pdf

Have a little bit "suspicion" is can be something about the tail servo unit.
Have mount in new BLS251 from other model for test/check.

Will know more tomorrow, after test.

The are not some limit B in GY611.

Had the some idea , the gain should be same as radio have too.

when you see the limit A screen hold rudder one way it will show lmt A, hold stick the other way it will show lmt B. change from F3C to 3D it will hold the tail better. try to have both limit atleast 100 both ways.R I P Roman Jr. Team SRW EFC

Problem is gone!

Not 100% sure what the problems was, but have do two things :

1. Clean / anoint the tail part.

2. Change the tail servo , BLS251.

Works great now..

Sorry for the late reply... Both of the above steps probably helped but if it happens again, check that the tail pitch slider and see if it's not snotted up (it's a helicopter term) with old sticky oil. Remove the control rod from the bell crank see if it's sticky. I've seen this quite a few times and flooding the T/R output shaft with Tri-Flo usually fixes the problem.

Cheers,

Bill
