Sorry about that ,,I didnt read your post,,,just a light bulb over my head and had to ask!!

You mentioned chord wise placement but how far from the end the hole is could be a problem too.
Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

This is a real shot in the dark but with the blades stacked on each other do the bolt holes in the blades match exactly?
Not a shot in the dark at all. I appreciate the suggestion. I just checked. They are as identical as my eyes can detect. No obvious differences.

dgoss999 - I tried your chord CG method as well. Mark on the bench between each blade was only 0.1mm difference.

Here is a pic of the blades with my measurements "X" marks the CG of the blades. Figure to the left of the "X" is the distance from leading edge to center of the "X". Figure to the right of the "X" is distance from bolt hole to center of the "X". I would categorize these blades as pretty dang good.

Weird huh?

Would I be correct in saying the Span LENGTH CofG's is different or is it just the way you have photographed them??

The CofG both length and width need to align for them to spin without vibration.

Just the way its photographed. The dimensions to the right of the cg are from the bolt hole. Spanwise cg is within .05cm.Steve

OK so as you say you have got good blades.

The next thing I guess you need then is to focus on the aerodynamics. Are both blades flat.. Put a blade bolt through both of them and squeeze the roots together. Let them hang are both the blades parallel?

How do you track/adjust the tracking once the blades are bolted on the machine. (do you check the tension of both blades to see if the lead/lag damping is about the same)?

Once the blades are bolted on the machine, set them so when you sight from above the machine, down the blade length, they are both in a straight line.

At zero pitch and no cyclic (Roll/pitch) biassed (trim) measure from each blade tip straight down to the tail boom. Swap the blades between each holder and measure again..

What you do now depends on the above measurement....

I wanted to reply a lot earlier but was out of town for a week and some change.
Did anyone mention balancing the entire head assembly?
I buy a spare mainshaft for every Heli and use it to balance the whole head.
I also fly Skookum 720 with vibe analysis capabilities and have never had a problem with vibes according to it either.

Just a thought I wanted to put out there. Hope to already have it solved.
